A Few Qiuck Misc Cards

Good Morning Everyone! I was going to try to get these posted last week but have been sick with the flu.. I have spent the better part of last week either in bed or just laying around. Hopefully I will turn the corner soon. I haven't had much crafting time over the last month or so...these are cards that were still on the camera so I thought I would download them.and share them with you. A last day of school card for our oldest grandson who LOVES Yoshi. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is the character in the game Mario Bros. I thought this clip art that I found online was perfect. I did a print and cut with my Silhouette---
A cross-stitch bookmark that my husband did that went with the card. This will be perfect for his summer reading of the chapter books we got him---
When I made Jeremiah a recovery card of Lightening McQueen when he had surgery a few months ago, Nathaniel wanted to know where his "Buzz" card was. This was the thank you card I made for the twins for my husbands birthday.. Again made with clip art I found on line---
My husband's Uncle and his wife will be moving to a retirement cottage home July 1st...this is the card that will be mailed later this week. The house is a Silhouette cut that I made into an easel card and used a scallop cut for the roof. If you take a closer look, you can see I put their unit # on as the  "house number" to make it personal---
A retirement card for a blogger friend for her neighbor who is a judge---
That's all I had on the camera but have a few more cards that need to be photographed. As soon as I get a chance I will take the pictures and get them posted. I tried to visit my favorite blogs this morning. Sorry if I missed you...I'll try to catch you next time. I'm going back to bed! Enjoy your day and have a great week!

A New Home, A Note From The Heart and A Thank You Card

Good Morning Everyone...As usual, I am short on time so this will be a quick posting. Here's an card I made for a friend that just bought a new home. I thought it would be fun to make a birdhouse but wasn't sure how it would look with a narrow card base but was pleased with how it turned out. The birds and birdhouse are cuts from The Silhouette online store, the branch and leaves are the Bare Branch from Impression Obsession. The flowers and musical note are a Michael's dollar bin punch with the centers of the flowers from the Sugar Egg die from Scrapping Cottage. The sentiment says "Home Tweet Home-Congratulations on Your New Nest".Easel cards are always difficult for me to photograph---
When Blogger friend Lorene saw the piano card I made for my Aunt for Mother's Day, she had to email me to let me know how much she loved it. Lorene has gone through quite an ordeal with health issues the last 6-8 month and I'wanted to send her a "thinking of you" card so this was perfect timing. The base card is one that I designed on my Silhouette using a mix of various templates. The branch and leaves are the Bare Branch from Impression Obsession as are the Chickadees that I colored with Copics. The flowers and musical notes are a Michael's dollar bin punch with the centers of the flowers from the Sugar Egg die from Scrapping Cottage---
And finally a simple "note" of thanks made with my Silhouette. I promise, this will be the last piano card that I will make for awhile---
That's it for now...I am working on a few cards for my grandson's but not sure when I will get back to post them. My granddaughters from Tennessee will be coming for the summer and even though they will be making their rounds between several families, we will want to spend as much time as possible with them so I won't have much time for crafting or blogging but I'll try not to stay gone for too long. Thanks for stopping by...Enjoy your day!

OK...OK...I'll Take 10 Lashes With A Wet Noodle

Greetings Everyone!!! I know I've been MIA and I'll take my lumps. Blogging is a lot of work and with the lack of participation via your comment over the last few months, I am finding myself making excuses not to blog. I don't know if I've gotten lazy or just become bored. Remember...YOUR comments are MY inspiration  to keep up with my postings. Anyway...with that being said here are a few cards made with my Silhouette, Spellbinders dies and a few punches. Starting with the Mother's Day cards made for my aunt, daughter in law and my good friend Gigi---
A wedding card with box for my brother in law and his new wife Libby---
A few cards made for my blogger friend Shirl---
And a get well card for my youngest grandson after having eye surgery---
That's it for now but will try to get back later in the week to post a few more. Those of you that are kind enough to leave comments, I will be sure to visit your blog sometime this week.

A Few Cards Since My Last Posting and Information on Silhouette Blades

Good Morning! Yep, it's me...I'm alive and well. Sorry it has been sooooo long since my last posting. I just don't have the countless hours like I used to, to spend on the Internet. Many of you know that I recently got a Silhouette Cameo. Not being a newbie to the world of cutting machines, when the machine wouldn't cut a straight line without tearing the paper, I knew there was a problem so I called Silhouette. They sent me a new blade and mat and I was back in business. I was ready to cut my losses and set the machine along side of my Cricut and Gazelle to collect dust when I had gone through 2 blades and only made 3 cards. That was when my blogger friend Sandi came along. She turned me on to the Silhouette forum where I learned of a blade alternative. A little confused as to which blade to order, I emailed Mark with Elkin Creek Vinyls, he responded within minutes advising me which blades and blade holder would work best in my Silhouette Cameo. I had my new blades and holder within 2 days and couldn't be happier. If you are a Silhouette owner, you know how pricey the blades are..The blades from Elkin Creek  are precision blades and the holders fit perfectly in the Silhouette. Don't let your Silhouette sit to collect dust, contact Mark...he will fix your right up...you won't find better blades or customer service ANYWHERE! My blogger friend Kim from New Jersey gave me a tip on resticking the Silhouette mats (which are also pricey)...diluted Aleene's Tack It Over and Over...works great! With the combination of blades and mats, I'm good to go and LOVE my Silhouette!
Here are a few of the cards I've made since my last posting...not my best work, but they'll have to do. I'm going to have to post and run...if you need more information, don't hesitate to email me---
These next 3 are for our granddaughters in Tennessee. Since we don't get to see them as much as we would like, we send them a little cash from time to time. Yeah, Hello Kitty with a mustache is on the corny side. Our middle granddaughter Chloe loves Hello Kitty but recently is into mustaches...go figure--
We're off to watch the twins today...See you next time! Enjoy your day and have a great rest of the week!

My Favorite 10 From 2012.

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Me...our Christmas has been delayed this year with the flu going around we were unable to celebrate with family members but were able to visit friends and neighbors. As another year comes to an end, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my loyal friends and followers for their continued support. I have met so many wonderful people from all over the world through my 3 1/2 years of blogging, and hope to continue that friendship. While I don't have anything new to post, in keeping with tradition, I thought I would post my favorite 10 from 2012. Not in order of my favorite but in the order of oldest to newest. This card tugs at my heart. It was a card I made for my mom. Many of you know that my mom passed in October and while I know she is at peace and no longer in pain, the holidays were really tough for me this year. You can find the original post here ---
The birthday card for my son. the original post is here---
A gatefold with a clasp for St Patrick's Day can be found here---
A couple of fun stair step Easter cards. The original post is here---
A card made for our neighbor for a wedding she attended in Brazil. Felicidades...That is Congratulations in English. The original post is here---
My husband asked why I chose this card...I don't know, I just liked it. The original post for this fun card is here---
A sympathy card made for a dear friend of my husband's who lost his wife...In loving memory of Sarah The posting can be found here---
The posting for a Thank You card for my Aunt for all she did for my mom is here---
And finally a card made for a blogger friend's 7 year old son to give to his teacher who calls her students her owlettes.. The posting can be found here---
That's it for my 2012 year in review. Thanks for stopping by...as always if you have any questions on the recipe or supplies that I have used in my postings, please feel free to email me. For those of you that stop by on a regular basis but never leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you! Two Very Special Thank You Cards

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a great week. It's been a tough 2 weeks for me. Heartfelt thanks to those that were kind enough to send cards, emails and left comments here on my blog for the passing of my mom. Without your prayers and support, I don't know how I would have gotten through. I still feel a void but am slowing getting back into the swing of things. Here are 2 very special Thank You cards. The first one was sent to my aunt who spent countless hours caring for my mom, not only during her battle with cancer but acted as a companion when she was well after the passing of my dad some years ago. Aunt Midge, you will never know how grateful we are. I used Spellbinder Floral Ovals, Cuttlebug With Gratitude Card Combo Die and EK Diamond Lace Edge Punch---
This next card went to my grandson's who even though I wasn't in the mood to celebrate, made my birthday extra special. The twins have such a passion for puppies, I couldn't resist using this Scrapping Cottage Party Puppy for their card. While not my favorite die, I have over used the Shih Tzu Peeker and plan on using my new Christmas Puppy die for their Christmas card. The bone is also a Scrapping Cottage die and the paw print in a punch layered on a Nestibility circle and added to Cuttlebug Babyface Alpha Die---
While these next 2 aren't Thank You cards, they were in my camera about the time my computer crashed and hadn't had a chance to post them. Very simple and doesn't need explaining. I used Stampin' Up Digital Designer Paper printed on parchment paper, inked the edges and added a computer generated sentiment---
My Blogger friend Shirl wanted a Thinking of You or a Sympathy card, similar to the one I made last month for the husband of a vendor my husband worked with years ago. I converted it it an A2 using a computer generated sentiment that could be used for either, then layered it on a Petite Oval/Scallop Nestibility---
That's it for now...Thanks for stopping by. Have a great week and I hope to see you soon!

Something Other Than Christmas

Good Morning Everyone! Thanks so much for stopping by!  Remember when I posted the cards that I made for our neighbor with the heart bride and groom? I told you that was the last you would see it for a while. I guess I knew then, that wouldn't be entirely true. I knew in April that I had an anniversary card to make for our Disney enthusiasts Bob and Kathi. I wanted to put a little different twist on it using the Mickey heads cut with My Cricut---
I knew last month when Gina K of Stamp TV posted a video for the "Sunshine Background", I wanted to use it to make a card for my mom. Here is what I came up with. The flower and clouds are dies from My Favorite Things and the doily is a die from The Scrapping Cottage. The sentiment is computer generated---
I always try to keep a few quick Thank You card in my stash. I used a Michael's $1 bin stamp and A Cuttlebug embossing folder for this one---
Here's a Tiddly Ink image that I colored with Copics and paper pieced the dress. I added 2 different EK scalloped edge border punches, a Nestibility heart and and a few brads---
I used a embroidery floss bobbin as a template for this card. I inked and added the swirl and flower from an EK  punch and added a pearl and embroidery floss The sentiment is computer generated, cut with an oval and inked---
That's it for now. I've got a few Birthday's cards to do for September then I'll be finishing up my Christmas cards. Working on my Christmas the whole month of July has really given me a good head start and I had so much fun, I want to finish them. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day, I'll see you next time...have a great week.

A Couple of Fun Cards

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a great week. Me...it's been very busy, with my mom in a rehab over 100 miles away with numerous trips back and forth and our sweet Maltese, Charlee with yet another ear infection that we have been treating since March...things have been very hectic. Many of you may remember last year she had to have surgery, they removed everything from her ear drum out because we had battle chronic ear infections. She is now having the same problem with what we refer to as her "good ear". She is scheduled to have the same surgery this morning. I've got a ton of unanswered emails and I have not had a chance to visit my favorite blog but I did want to do a quick posting on a couple of fun cards and to welcome my new followers. I'm really pressed for time this morning so I will close by saying...Don't give up on me...I'll answer my emails and visit my favorite blogs within the next day or 2...or 3. If you have any questions on the recipe or the supplies I used...please feel free to email me! I'll be back the first part of next week with the Thank You cards I made for our vet---
Til then, enjoy your day and have a great week...what's left of it!
