A New Home, A Note From The Heart and A Thank You Card

Good Morning Everyone...As usual, I am short on time so this will be a quick posting. Here's an card I made for a friend that just bought a new home. I thought it would be fun to make a birdhouse but wasn't sure how it would look with a narrow card base but was pleased with how it turned out. The birds and birdhouse are cuts from The Silhouette online store, the branch and leaves are the Bare Branch from Impression Obsession. The flowers and musical note are a Michael's dollar bin punch with the centers of the flowers from the Sugar Egg die from Scrapping Cottage. The sentiment says "Home Tweet Home-Congratulations on Your New Nest".Easel cards are always difficult for me to photograph--- 

When Blogger friend Lorene saw the piano card I made for my Aunt for Mother's Day, she had to email me to let me know how much she loved it. Lorene has gone through quite an ordeal with health issues the last 6-8 month and I'wanted to send her a "thinking of you" card so this was perfect timing. The base card is one that I designed on my Silhouette using a mix of various templates. The branch and leaves are the Bare Branch from Impression Obsession as are the Chickadees that I colored with Copics. The flowers and musical notes are a Michael's dollar bin punch with the centers of the flowers from the Sugar Egg die from Scrapping Cottage---

And finally a simple "note" of thanks made with my Silhouette. I promise, this will be the last piano card that I will make for awhile---

Two Very Special Thank You Cards

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a great week. It's been a tough 2 weeks for me. Heartfelt thanks to those that were kind enough to send cards, emails and left comments here on my blog for the passing of my mom. Without your prayers and support, I don't know how I would have gotten through. I still feel a void but am slowing getting back into the swing of things. Here are 2 very special Thank You cards. The first one was sent to my aunt who spent countless hours caring for my mom, not only during her battle with cancer but acted as a companion when she was well after the passing of my dad some years ago. Aunt Midge, you will never know how grateful we are. I used Spellbinder Floral Ovals, Cuttlebug With Gratitude Card Combo Die and EK Diamond Lace Edge Punch---

This next card went to my grandson's who even though I wasn't in the mood to celebrate, made my birthday extra special. The twins have such a passion for puppies, I couldn't resist using this Scrapping Cottage Party Puppy for their card. While not my favorite die, I have over used the Shih Tzu Peeker and plan on using my new Christmas Puppy die for their Christmas card. The bone is also a Scrapping Cottage die and the paw print in a punch layered on a Nestibility circle and added to Cuttlebug Babyface Alpha Die---

While these next 2 aren't Thank You cards, they were in my camera about the time my computer crashed and hadn't had a chance to post them. Very simple and doesn't need explaining. I used Stampin' Up Digital Designer Paper printed on parchment paper, inked the edges and added a computer generated sentiment---

My Blogger friend Shirl wanted a Thinking of You or a Sympathy card, similar to the one I made last month for the husband of a vendor my husband worked with years ago. I converted it it an A2 using a computer generated sentiment that could be used for either, then layered it on a Petite Oval/Scallop Nestibility---

Happy Monday Morning Everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. I've been sort of MIA this past week, In addition to the problem with Blogger, our Internet was up and down for most of the week so I haven't been able to visit my favorite blogs as much as I would like. Thinking Of You

Good Morning Everyone! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are having a good week. Today's card is very plain and really quick and easy and perfect for dropping someone a little note to let them know you are thinking of them. And best of all...it is PINK!
The image is a Michael's dollar bin stamp that has been colored with Prisma Pencils and OMS then glittered and layered with circle/scallop Nestibilities. The background has been embossed with Cuttleug Textile embossing folder with score lines and the edge scalloped using Stampin Up scallop edge punch which flat back pearls and a ribbon knot has been added. Words are computer generated using Calibri font on the bold setting.

Spread Your Wings

Today's card is quick and easy and was made with The Cutting Cafe Printable Stamps. It was a little difficult to photograph because of the sheen of the paper I used and looks a bit muted but looks much better in person. The background paper is the "Spread Your Winds" stamp that was re colored and printed. It was layered on card stock that was cut with the EK Diamond Scallop edge punch that the diamond holes were covered with flat back pearls. The butterfly image is from The Cutting Cafe Social Butterfly stamp set that was re colored and cut and layered with an oval/scallop Nestibility. A craft yarn bow was added to the image and tiny flat back pearls were added to the larger butterfly. The sentiment on the tag was computer generated using Gisha font then cut with a Fiskars tag punch, an eyelet added and tied to the ribbon bow on the background layer.

Thinking Of You-Inspired By Migdalia

Good Morning Everyone. I hope you had a great 3 day weekend! We started our weekend with a trip to Epcot Friday evening to share in the celebration of a very good friend's birthday. We had perfect weather, which is unusual for Florida this time of year. Normally we get late afternoon thunderstorms, but not on Friday, we didn't get a drop of rain! Well, at least not at Epcot! We even stayed for the fireworks which is something that we don't usually do since it is such a madhouse when exiting of the park. Good food, good friends...it don't get much better!

Today's card was totally inspired by a Thank You gift from Migdalia. When she sent me the Thank You card that I posted last week, she included some crocheted flowers. Aren't they so cute! She is SO crafty! I really had fun with these. I cut an oval using an oval Nestibility from some K & Company designer paper that had flowers on it then glue the crochet flowers on top of the flowers leaving the stems show through, then layered it on top of a scallop Nestibility. I put the background paper onto a layer that was cut with an EK dotted scallop edge punch and added a bow that I used the Bow Easy. I think I have decided that I really don't like it after all, the over all look is probably OK but I like a tighter bow so I think I'll go back to my old way of making bows. The tag was cut with a Spellbinder tag that the words Thinking Of You were computer generated using Angelina font then used craft yarn to tie it to the ribbon.

Thinking Of You Today

Happy Friday! Since it's going to be a busy Friday for me, just a quickie today!

The background layer was embossed with the Cuttlebug With Love embossing border set and Swiss Dot embossing folder and added some ribbon and flat back pearls. The sentiment is from a card that I had received years ago and decided to recycle. I cut it with a circle Nestibility and layered in on a circle/scallop Nestibility, glittered the butterfly trail and added a couple butterflies that I cut with Martha Stewart 3 butterfly punch and added a flat back pearls.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star...

Here's a little card I did this morning using a Penny Black image that I colored with Prisma pencils and OMS then layered it on a circle scallop Nestibility then punched holes in one of the layers with a paper piercer. The band was cut with an EK arrow border punch and added a ribbon. The sentiment was computer generated then cut with Spellbinder tag. I added a few stars that were cut with Cuttlebug snowflake die and added the corners that were cut with Cuttlebug corner die.

Thinking Of You

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Here's a little "Thinking Of You" card I did this morning that was pretty simple. The background layer was embossed with the Cuttlebug With Love embossing border set and Swiss Dot embossing folder then I used the Scor Pal to add the lines between the embossing. The leaves were cut with the Sizzix Little Leaves die, then added flowers cut with a small Marvy Daisy punch. For the center of the flower I used a dollar bin punch from Michael's and added a little glitter and flat back pearls. Words are computer generated then cut with a circle/scallop Nestibility. Just A Little Note To Say...HELLO!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! My son and daughter-in-law stopped by unexpectedly on Saturday and it's always nice when we have a chance to see our grandson. I can't believe he will be 3 years old on Wednesday...my how time flies! He is our little miracle baby, he was born in the 32nd week weighing only 3 pounds but quickly dropped down to 2.6. He sure has come a long way, he is just as smart as a whip, being a preemie hasn't hurt him at all!

I know you are probably getting tired of seeing these flowers (because I sure am...LOL) I promise this will be the last one I will make with them for a while. I sure have gotten my $1.99 worth out of them...LOL! It's an acetate card so it was a little difficult to photograph. I stamped the acetate with a dollar stamp from Michael's and an Inkadinkadoo butterfly that I added 3mm flat back pearls to. I pop dotted the flowers on layers of card stock that was cut with Quickutz Flourish die and added flat back pearls. Added word generated sentiment then cut it with a small rectangle/scallop Nestibility and added a bow. Pretty easy huh?

Hugs and Kisses

Good Morning Everyone!!!
This will probably be the only post I do for the week. As many of you know, my husband will be having back surgery tomorrow and will probably be in the hospital for 2-3 days, so I will want to spend my time with him. He's has had a rough week..both physically and mentally. For all of you that have sent well wishes, thank you for your thoughts and prayers, we really appreciate it.

Here's a couple of cards I made for my Granddaughters that live in Tennessee. I made them both the same but changed the images and the colors. I try to do that so one won't feel more or less important than the other...you know how caddy girls can be!!! They are both Whipper Snapper images that have been colored with Prisma pencils and OMS, then layered them on circle/scallop Nestibilities but I did something a little bit different this time. I took the outside scallop die cut and in the "humps" I used a tiny heart punch that I got in the dollar bin at Michael's then layered in on the same size contrasting color. It was a little tedious but I really liked the effect. I also used a circle Nestibility on the layer that I put on the base card then embossed it using the embossing folder from the Cuttlebug Love Language set. The heart on the left is a Cuttlebug heart die and the hearts on the right are a "mystery die" that I got from Spellbinders when I ordered one of their alphabet sets. I added a bow and a tiny bit of glitter (although it doesn't show in the pictures) to the bow around the bear's neck and the necklace around the cat's neck. Words are computer generated. You Are In My Heart and Thoughts

This is a real quick and simple card, and could be used for anytime you are thinking of someone. I layered squares of design paper on card stock that were cut with scallop Nestibilities then layered them to the base. The Penny Black sentiment is heat embossed with silver embossing powder then cut and layered it on an oval/scallop Nestibilities. The butterfly is an Inkadinkadoo image that I also heat embossed with silver then cut it with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I added some silver rain hearts and 2mm pink gemstones to the center of the flowers. That's it for today...I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Happy Wednesday...we are half way to the weekend! Here's a quick little card that I made for my father-in-law using Cuttlebug Baby Face Alphabet die for the words. The image is an Inkadinkadoo image that I stamped and colored twice with Prisma pencils and OMS then cut it out and pop dotted it on a circle Nestibility. Thinking Of You Makes Us Smile!

Good Morning Everyone!!! I hope you had a nice holiday weekend. Yesterday was the first day in over a week that we had seen sunshine here in Orlando. We did get our usual late afternoon showers but other than that, the day was picture perfect. Michael's had 20% off the entire purchase, including sale items that I had taken advantage of. With a couple of 40% off coupons, I had gotten a few things that I have been eyeing. My husband and I had a very leisurely lunch at O'Charley's where we actually were able to sit outside and soak up the sun. My husband just told me that they are forcasting another 3-4 inches of rain today, so here we go again...I'm really thankful for the day we had yesterday. I made today's card for my father-in-law, I hope it will bring a smile to his face the way it did for me while I was making it for him. I started with a Hero Art image that I colored with Prisma pencils and OMS then layered it on oval/scallop Nestibililities. The band was cut using EK mini scallop edge punch and the "Smile" was cut from Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, then dotted it with a brown frost gel pen. The square buttons are Sizzix that I added craft yarn to. I added some thin brown ribbon and tied knots to it. The words are computer generated. Thanks for stopping by. Thinking Of You with Love

For the next week or so, I'm going to concentrate of "Thinking of You" cards for a man. Several weeks ago, we had to put my 91 year old father-in-law into an assisted living home and I want to be able to send him a card every week or 2 to let him know we are thinking of him. So, that is what prompted today's card. I used the Cuttlebug Bird Call embossing folder and chalked the embossed image then layered it onto card stock that I added 2 brads, then layered it off center to another piece of card stock that I added 4 brads then put them on the card base. I used an oval/scallop and tag Nestibilities for the sentiment and added some ribbon and bows. Words are computer generated.. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a relaxing holiday.
