Mickey 4th of July

Good Morning Bloggers...I hope everyone had a nice weekend.
I said last week that I had posted all my 4th of July cards but this one was purposely left out. It is for good friends of ours that visit my blog often and without even saying, they would have know it was for them. I didn't want them see see it on my blog before they had a chance to receive it. They are THE biggest Mickey fanatics that I know! Kathi and Bob...this one is for YOU!
I got the image on line---
http://picasaweb.google.dk/Silviamamota/Mickey#
and colored Mickey's face with Prisma pencils and OMS and the remainder of the image with Sharpie markers, then layered it on circle/scallop Nestibilities. The stars around the scallops were cut from the smallest star from the Cuttlebug snowflake die. The corners on the background layer were cut with Stampin Up ticket punch and stars added to the corners. The words were computer generated then cut with Nestibility deckled edge die. The Mickey heads to either side were cut with Cuttlebug Celebration Combo set and then a bow was added.
Thanks for stopping by, if you haven't already, please sign my guestbook or leave a comment. You just have no idea how much your comments mean to me. Have a great day and I hope to see you tomorrow!

A Simple Thanks

Good Morning and Happy Friday Everyone. I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit today. Come on in and take a look around. If you see what you like, leave me a comment. If you see something that you don't quite understand, leave me a comment and I'll be sure to get back with you.
I don't think you can EVER have enough Thank You cards and today's card is very quick and simple. The background layer is embossed with Vine Label embossing folder from Quickkutz. I added the smallest flower cut from Spellbinders Sunflower Set 2 cut twice then layered and added the contrasting center also cut from that set. The leaves were cut with EK mountain fern punch and the Thanks was cut from Cuttlebug With Gratitdue Combo. Pretty simply huh? Hope you enjoy your visit, have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back on Monday. Til then-Happy Crafting!

God Bless America

Good Morning All! This will be the last of my 4th of July cards, I will finish the inside sentiments and get them ready for mailing so they can be mailed by the weekend. Today's card was made with a Digital Delight stamp. I just love Ridley Raccoon and he's all dressed with his top hat and coat, he is ready for the 4th of July. He can be purchased at---
http://digitaldelightsbyloubyloo.wordpress.com/
along with all of his other friends. Stop by to see the other digital stamps Wendy has to offer.
I colored his face and body with Prisma pencils and OMS, The stripes on his face and tail along with his top hat, vest and pants were colored with Sharpie markers then layered on a rectangle/scallop Nestibility. The God Bless America is also a Digital Delight image that was cut and layered on a square/scallop Nestibility. I use a white gel pen to frame both with doodle dots. The cut and glittered stars are from the Spellbinder Reflection Angel set and added ribbon and bow. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy the rest of your visit.

4th Of July-Boo On His Bum

I'm Back...I was working on this card this morning when Eunice from Pearl City, Hawaii left me a comment saying how much she loved Boo. I told her that I was working on a 4th of July Boo and be sure to check back. There was one distraction after another this morning and I wasn't able to finish him until now. Well...here he is...don't ya just love him? I layered Boo on his Bum from Go Kreate on a circle/scallop Nestibility that I used the 4th of July word background from the Cutting Cafe. The hat is also a Cutting Cafe printable stamp. I added 3 stars to the hat that were cut from the Cuttlebug snowflake die and added glitter. I cut a piece of striped designer paper into a very small rectangle then added a very small square of star designer paper to make the flag then glued it to a flat toothpick that I colored with gold ink and added a flat gold gem to the top. The words Happy 4th of July was computer generated and cut with a tag Nestibility then added 2 more stars that were cut from the Cuttlebug snowflake die and a bow. That's it for today, thanks for stopping by.

Happy 4th Of July

Good Morning! Here are a couple of cards I made this morning using The Cutting Cafe Digital Stamps. I printed the calendar then layered in on circle/scallop Nestibilities. I used the smallest star on the Cuttlebug Snowflake die around the edge. You can't tell from the picture but the stars stand off the scallop. I glued 2 pieces of card stock together before I ran it through the Cuttlebug. Added a few Spellbinder stars that I ran through my Zyron then glittered, added a rain dot and ribbon and bow. The back ground paper for the 1st one is also from the Cutting Cafe. You should check it out, the designs are awesome and Regina is SO talented, she really makes it easy to put a card together fast---

That's it for now...Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day and I hope to see you tomorrow!

Wishing You A Beary Happy Birthday

Good Morning...I SO happy you came to visit, I hope you had a great weekend. Today's card was made with "Boo on his Bum" by Go Kreate out of the UK. When Donna Mundinger of Popsicle Toes made THE most adorable baby shower invitations for her friend Leah, I knew I just HAD to have it. She tells me that it is available in only 2 places here in the US. When I went looking, they BOTH were out of stock, so every few days I would check back. FINALLY, last week it was available at Scrapyland so I ordered it and received it on Thursday. I have no doubt that you will be seeing him a lot. I made this card for my granddaughter Chloe who will be turning 5 in September. As I said, the bear is by GO Kreate, the balloons are cut from the Cuttlebug Birthday set with craft yarn attached. The 5 is cut from Cuttlebug Baby Face Alphabet. Words are computer generated then cut with a circle Nestibility and layered on a circle scallop Nestibility. A bow was added to the bear's head and to the package that was cut from designer paper. I inked her little cheeks to give her a little blush. Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again tomorrow. If you haven't already, leave me a comment or sign my guest book to tell me what you think! Have a fabulous day!

Another Thank Ewe

Good Evening Bloggers...since I wasn't able to get any crafting done during the day today, I thought I'd make a quick card tonight. We wanted to do something for the in- home physical therapist that has been working with my husband since his surgery. Her last day will be next Thursday and even though it has been a disruption, she has been really great with him and we will miss her.
This was a really quick and easy card thanks to Regina Easter at the Cutting Cafe. If you get a chance stop by to see what she has to offer. She has added some 4th of July items that are SO cute! I colored the image with Prisma pencils and OMS then layered it on a circle/scallop Nestibility, added some glitter around the edges and a craft yarn bow. The tag and "ewe" was cut from Cuttlebug Baby Face Alphabet die. The background paper from The Cutting Cafe was layered on a piece of card stock that was cut with EK diamond scallop edge punch. I added some ribbon and bow and it was good to go...just that easy. Thanks for stopping by. I've got a lot of running to do tomorrow so I probably won't see you til Monday, have a great weekend!

Grrrrr....Computers

Instead of spending my spare time crafting today, I spend a good portion of the day editing my Blog. I noticed several days ago that some of the pictures were not showing, they either had a small red X or a large blank spot with a small red X. Not knowing the first thing about computers, I have no idea what I did wrong, if anything. All I know is the pictures were there once upon a time and the last few days there were replaced by the dreaded red X. It was quite a chore but I think I managed to fill in all the "blank" spots (there were 18 total). Now, I just hope the next time I go to my Blog, I see pictures, instead of seeing red. If anyone out there knows what caused that, I would appreciate if you would leave me a comment, so if I did do something wrong, I don't do it again! With that being said...have a wonderful day! I hope to see you tomorrow!

This will be my first submission. The digital stamp is Hooty, he was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS, a touch of glossy accent was added to his beak and claws, then layered on an oval/scallop Nestibility. The band was embossed with Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder. The tag is from Spellbinders with computer generated words and 2 brown gemstones. I added a few sprigs of fern that were cut with an EK fern punch and a ribbon bow. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a GREAT day. See you tomorrow!

May Your Day Bubble Over With Fun-Happy Birthday

Good Afternoon...gosh this is such a switch for me...I am usually saying Good Morning but somehow the time has gotten away from me today so I'm posting MUCH later than usual. Today's card features the lovable Stampendous Changito...don't ya just love him, he is so CUTE! I colored the image with Prisma pencils and OMS then layered it on a circle Nestibility. The "May Your Day Bubble Over With Fun" is also a Stampendous stamp. The background layer is embossed with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder. Glitter was added to the bubbles along with glossy accent to the bubble he is blowing. I added a few rain dots and a ribbon bow. "Happy Birthday" is computer generated. This was a little difficult to photograph because of the bounce back from the metallic paper. Thanks SO much for stopping by, I'll try to be on time tomorrow...LOL! Have a great day!

"CIRCLE WORDS" INSTRUCTIONS

I have been asked by one of my visitors to explain how to put text into a circle. I am a self taught user and don't have a real working knowledge of Microsoft Word but I will attempt to explain. I hope you can understand because I am VERY computer illiterate and not very good at explaining things but here goes...I will give it my best shot! These are the basic instructions, at the end I will give you a more detailed instructions for the "Happy Father's Day" found in yesterdays post "Today Is Your Day To Be TOP DOG" If you have any questions...Please don't hesitate to ask, I am always happy to share what knowledge I have with you---

These instructions were done using Microsoft Word for Home and Student-2007, I'm not sure if they would apply to any other version of Microsoft Word.

(01) Open BLANK WORD DOCUMENT.
(02) Left Click on INSERT.
(03) Left click on WORD ART (There are many STYLES to choose from - select the one you want to use.
(04) When you left click on your chosen STYLE, a box titled EDIT WORD ART TEXT will appear with the HIGH-LIGHTED phrase "YOUR TEXT HERE".
(05) Type over the HIGH-LIGHTED phrase with your own word(s).
(06) Next, choose the FONT you want to use by going to the drop-down box, then click OK.
(07) Your text should be surrounded by colored FORMATTING DOTS & SHAPES which allows you to FORMAT the text. If they are not present, left click on the text and they will appear.
(08) Using the FORMATTING TOOLBAR (toolbar), left click on CHANGE SHAPE. There are 5 options under FOLLOW PATH, the PLAIN TEXT, ARCH UP, ARCH DOWN, CIRCLE and BUTTON, Left click on your chosen option and it will automatically loop your text into an arrangement that will allow you to SHAPE it into a FULL CIRCLE or OVAL.
(09) Still on the tool bar left click on SHAPE FILL and choose COLOR. Then left click on SHAPE OUTLINE and select COLOR.
(10) To adjust size, left click on any of the formatting dots and drag it to shape text into a circle/oval. The easiest way I have found to obtain the exact size of the circle you want is to go to the toolbar and left click on SIZE and enter desired vertical and horizontal dimensions. You also may need to adjust the placement of the words, it can be done by left clicking on the yellow diamond and dragging it into place.
(11) If at any time the formatting dots disappear, left click on the text and they will reappear.

You will really need to play around with it and find out what best suits your needs. Again, if you have ANY questions or something you don't understand, please don't hesitate to ask, I know I'm not very good at explaining things.

With all that being said...here is how I did the "Happy Father's Day"---
I used the BUTTON path option in #8 of the instructions. This allows you to add 3 lines that read right side up. I typed in "Happy Father's Day" hit enter twice (because I didn't want a middle line of text) then typed in "Happy Father's Day" again. I selected the font I wanted then clicked OK. I then selected the color by clicking the the Word Art format tool then selected the color I wanted for the fill shape and outline shape. I sized it by using the SIZE feature on the right side of the tool bar then held my Nestibility to the computer screen to check to see it if the words would fit into the circle, then adjusted the spacing of the words by left clicking on the yellow diamond.

Today Is Your Day To Be Top Dog

Good Morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! It has been a VERY long week for me, not that I will be able to relax this weekend but things won't be quite as stressful. With the nurse and physical therapist coming each day I haven't had much time for crafting. I was able to do a couple of cards last night that I'd like to share with you. They are both for my father-in-law...one serious and one just for fun. He loves to get my cards so it makes it all worthwhile. This first one is a fun one, that was inspired by JoySikes of the Cricut message board...here is the link to her card---http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=4723254&mpage=1
The dog image was cut from Cricut Doodlecharms cut 3 or 4 times then pop dotted and placed on a circle scallop Nestibility. I used a gold gel pen to doodle dot the scallops, the paw prints are clip art and the words are computer generated. The little bones were cut from Cricut Paper Pups. All the layers were inked (how I HATE white core paper) but I guess it does add depth to the card. The inside will read---"To Us, You Are Top Dog EVERYDAY" Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great weekend!

A Father Is Neither An Anchor To Hold Us Back Or A Sail To Take Us There

This card is the serious card that we are going to send to my father-in-law for Father's Day. It's really kind of plain but I really like the saying. The Peddler's Pack image was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS. I did the dryer sheet technique found on Splitcoaststamper---http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ee/index.php/resources/tutorials/dryer_sheet_technique/
and words are computer generated. Thanks for stopping by, hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thank Ewe

Good Morning Bloggers...I'm SO happy you dropped by today, I'd really LOVE to hear from you so PLEASE leave me a comment or sign my guestbook. You have no idea how much your comments mean to me. It really gives me inspiration and makes me feel that you are SO much a part of my Blog!
I had so much fun making this card, it is for my dear friend Gigi and Eduardo from my husband for the gifts they brought him while he was in the hospital. I had already sent them a card from me thanking them for their support (sorry, I forgot to take a picture of it) but we wanted to send them something from my husband. This is a digital stamp from the Cutting Cafe---
http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/
The prices are very reasonable and I just love not waiting for them to be shipped!
I used a circle Nestibility to cut the background layer so the "Thank" is peeking out then pop dotted the layer to give a shadow box effect. I used a scallop Nestibility to frame the circle then used a piercing tool around the edge. The tag and "ewe" is cut from Cuttlebug Baby Face Alphabet die. The fence is Martha Stewart picket fence edge punch. The ewe was printed twice, then cut, once in pink for the body and the wool on top of it's head and once in white for the face. The body was embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots. The head was pop dotted after I used a black Sharpie marker to color it's ears and Prisma pencils to add blush to the cheeks then pop dotted it on the background layer. I added ribbon and a bow. Thanks for stopping by...See you tomorrow...if you haven't already, please sign my guestbook or leave me a comment so I know you were here! Hope you enjoy the rest of your visit!

I'm Baaaack With A Couple Of Happy Father's Day Cards!

Good Morning...I'm baaaack! Here is a couple of really quick Father's Day cards that I made for my sons. Because I'm really pressed for time, I made them both the same, just different colors. I guess with everything that has been going on, I didn't realize that Father's Day was just around the corner and I hadn't given it the first thought. The Penny Black image was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS, then layered on a square/scallop Nestibilities, then added it to a layer that I added some clip art paw prints. The Happy Father's Day was computer generated and cut with a circle Nestibility then layered on a Cuttlebug tag that I glued 2 pieces of cardstock together then cut to make it stand off the paper a bit, then added 2 brads. The background layer was embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dots . Pretty quick huh?!? Thanks for stopping by, have a great day and I hope to see you tomorrow!

Thank You All For Your Encouraging Words

Thank You all for the encouraging words concerning my husband that I have received here on my Blog and though your heartfelt emails. I have responded to those of you that I could, but for those of you that left comments here that didn't use a sign in ID, this message is for you. Like most men, he is not a very good patient. I spent the morning and most of the afternoon with him yesterday, but because he was in so much pain, and there was nothing I could do for him, I left so he could get his rest. They did have him up and walking last night, but not unassisted. I am hopeful that with each day, he will regain his strength and it will get a little better than the day before. He is to call me when he is up to having company and until then, I will get some much needed house cleaning done. I cannot believe how I have let my house go while he has been home. I hope that things will get back to normal and that I will be able to resume my blog next week. As always...that's for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your day and I will see you when I see you!

Good Morning Bloggers!

No post today...Just a quick note let everyone know my husband came through the surgery very well. The surgeon was very pleased, hopefully they will have him up and walking today. A good friend and her husband stayed with me through it all. The words Thank You just isn't enough to say how grateful I am for the support they have given me. Thank you Gigi and Eduardo...you will never know how grateful I really am! Hopefully he will be able to come home in a few days but until then...Happy Crafting!

Hugs and Kisses

Good Morning Everyone!!!
This will probably be the only post I do for the week. As many of you know, my husband will be having back surgery tomorrow and will probably be in the hospital for 2-3 days, so I will want to spend my time with him. He's has had a rough week..both physically and mentally. For all of you that have sent well wishes, thank you for your thoughts and prayers, we really appreciate it.

Here's a couple of cards I made for my Granddaughters that live in Tennessee. I made them both the same but changed the images and the colors. I try to do that so one won't feel more or less important than the other...you know how caddy girls can be!!! They are both Whipper Snapper images that have been colored with Prisma pencils and OMS, then layered them on circle/scallop Nestibilities but I did something a little bit different this time. I took the outside scallop die cut and in the "humps" I used a tiny heart punch that I got in the dollar bin at Michael's then layered in on the same size contrasting color. It was a little tedious but I really liked the effect. I also used a circle Nestibility on the layer that I put on the base card then embossed it using the embossing folder from the Cuttlebug Love Language set. The heart on the left is a Cuttlebug heart die and the hearts on the right are a "mystery die" that I got from Spellbinders when I ordered one of their alphabet sets. I added a bow and a tiny bit of glitter (although it doesn't show in the pictures) to the bow around the bear's neck and the necklace around the cat's neck. Words are computer generated. Thanks for stopping by, I will see you when I see you!
