You Are In My Heart and Thoughts

Happy Friday Everyone!!! Thanks for stopping by...If you see what you like, please leave a comment. I LOVE to know what you think about my designs. If you have any question as to how I did something, don't hesitate to ask, I am more than happy to answer your questions, no matter how simple you may think it might be. This is a real quick and simple card, and could be used for anytime you are thinking of someone. I layered squares of design paper on card stock that were cut with scallop Nestibilities then layered them to the base. The Penny Black sentiment is heat embossed with silver embossing powder then cut and layered it on an oval/scallop Nestibilities. The butterfly is an Inkadinkadoo image that I also heat embossed with silver then cut it with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I added some silver rain hearts and 2mm pink gemstones to the center of the flowers. That's it for today...I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thank You...We Are So Grateful

Hello---I know, I know...I am WAY late in posting today's card. I have been busy with the preparations for my husbands upcoming back surgery on June 2nd. For the next 2 week things will be a little bit CRAZY! Today's card is really simple and the best part is, I was able to use some of the scraps I have been putting aside. The base of the card was embossed with Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls embossing folder. The bird was heat embossed with pink embossing powder (sorry, I don't know the brand or the color as I threw out the cantainer it came in when I transferred it into a ziplock disposable container for easy use) The flowers were cut from circle scallop Nestibilities, then cut toward the center (but not all the way) and embossed with Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder. The center of the flower is the smallest circle Nestibility that was embossed with the flower from the Cuttlebug Flower set. I added leaves punched from EK Mountain Fern punch, added 3mm flat back pearls and a ribbon. Words are computer generated. Pretty easy! Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you tomorrow...Have a great day!

Birthday Wishes

I know everyone is probably tired of seeing this embossing folder by Stampin Up but I just "had" to have it when it first came out, but it was out of stock. Well I got it yesterday and it does make a SUPER quick and elegant card. I used it for a birthday greeting but it could be used for any occasion. I embossed vellum then cut it out and glued it to a piece of card stock and added a bow. I think it too me 15 minutes from start to finish...Now it doesn't get any quicker than that. Words are computer generated.

you HOO dad we LOVE you

Happy Wednesday...we are half way to the weekend! Here's a quick little card that I made for my father-in-law using Cuttlebug Baby Face Alphabet die for the words. The image is an Inkadinkadoo image that I stamped and colored twice with Prisma pencils and OMS then cut it out and pop dotted it on a circle Nestibility. I added some ribbon and a few branches from an EK fern punch. That's it for today...see you tomorrow! Hope you have a great day, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Thinking Of You Makes Us Smile!

Good Morning Everyone!!! I hope you had a nice holiday weekend. Yesterday was the first day in over a week that we had seen sunshine here in Orlando. We did get our usual late afternoon showers but other than that, the day was picture perfect. Michael's had 20% off the entire purchase, including sale items that I had taken advantage of. With a couple of 40% off coupons, I had gotten a few things that I have been eyeing. My husband and I had a very leisurely lunch at O'Charley's where we actually were able to sit outside and soak up the sun. My husband just told me that they are forcasting another 3-4 inches of rain today, so here we go again...I'm really thankful for the day we had yesterday. I made today's card for my father-in-law, I hope it will bring a smile to his face the way it did for me while I was making it for him. I started with a Hero Art image that I colored with Prisma pencils and OMS then layered it on oval/scallop Nestibililities. The band was cut using EK mini scallop edge punch and the "Smile" was cut from Cricut Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, then dotted it with a brown frost gel pen. The square buttons are Sizzix that I added craft yarn to. I added some thin brown ribbon and tied knots to it. The words are computer generated. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a wonderful day and until next time...Happy Crafting!

Thinking Of You with Love

Good Morning...I'm so happy you stopped by...come on in, make yourself at home,, stay as long as you would like. If you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them just leave me a comment and I will get back with you, usually the same day. For the next week or so, I'm going to concentrate of "Thinking of You" cards for a man. Several weeks ago, we had to put my 91 year old father-in-law into an assisted living home and I want to be able to send him a card every week or 2 to let him know we are thinking of him. So, that is what prompted today's card. I used the Cuttlebug Bird Call embossing folder and chalked the embossed image then layered it onto card stock that I added 2 brads, then layered it off center to another piece of card stock that I added 4 brads then put them on the card base. I used an oval/scallop and tag Nestibilities for the sentiment and added some ribbon and bows. Words are computer generated.. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a relaxing holiday. I will see you tomorrow!

Is It Nap Time Yet?

It's a lazy day here in Orlando, the rains have finally stopped but it's still dreary outside so I thought I'd hide myself in my craft room and see if I can stay out of trouble. Is It Nap Time Yet? This cute image is from Penny Black and was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS then layered it on a tag Nestibility. The heart/scallop is also a Nestibility that the words were computer generated then colored with Prisma pencils. The band was cut with a Stampin Up edge punch. I added some glitter, a few rain hearts, 2mm gemstones and a bow. Thanks for stopping by...All this talk about napping has made me tired...I think I will go take a nap after lunch...LOL! Have a great holiday weekend!!!

Thanks

Happy Friday...Are you ready for the weekend? Today's card is pretty simple, it was made with Spellbinder Flowers and Sizzix button dies that craft yarn was threaded through the buttons and pop dotted on layers of card stock that were cut with deckled edge Nestibilities. The leaves were cut with EK fern punch and the "thanks" was cut with Cuttlebug with Gratitude card making combo. Thanks for stopping by, if you like what you see, leave a comment...you know how I LOVE when you leave me a message. Hope everyone has a great weekend, I'm already looking forward to seeing you on Monday!

Rain...Rain...Go Away!

Good Morning All...Today's card is kind of plain and simple and it probably won't mean anything to you unless you live in Central Florida! It has rained for 4 days straight and even though we needed it very badly...enough is enough already!!! The image is that lovable Changito by Stampendous. It was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS then layered on an oval/scallop Nestibilities. The background layer was embossed with Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. I added some glitter and flat back gold gems. Words are computer generated. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your visit. Until next time...Happy Crafting!

Get Well Wishes

Here is a really quick card I made this morning. It was inspired by SusieB on the Cricut messageboard. I embossed and chalked the card stock with the Cuttlebug stylized flowers embossing folder then layered it on the base. I added a Nestibility tag with computer generated words and added a bow. Doesn't get much easier and quicker than that! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again tomorrow! Have a fantastic day!

A Birthday Wish For You

Good Morning! I'm going to have a busy day today, my husband has to go to his cardiolgist for a stress test before he can be cleared to have his back surgery so todays card is real quick and easy. I kind of cheated by using premade flowers and chipboard. I layered designer paper to the base of the card and added the flowers and "wish" chipboard by K and Company. The words are computer generated. Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful day!

May Your Day Bubble Over With Fun

Good Morning Bloggers...I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend! I wanted to start the week with something fun so I chose this Stampendous image that I colored with Prisma pencils and OMS, then layered it on a tag Nestibility. The sentiment is also a Stampendous stamp that I outlined the "bubble" with a Sharpie marker and layered it on a circle/scallop Nestibility then doodle dotted around the scallop. I added some cut circles that were lightly inked to represent bubbles then added some glitter, pop dots and a few rain dots. Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks SO Much

Here is a card I made for my 2 year old grandson thanking him for my Mother's Day gift. I colored the Penny Black image with Prisma pencils then layered it on a square Nestibility. I used VersaMark watermark ink pad to stamp Inkadinkadoo images on the band then layered in on a piece of card stock that was cut with a Stampin Up scallop edge punch. The bone was cut from Cricut Mickey Font then stamped with words from a Stampin Up stamp and lightly inked the edges. The paw print is clip art that I found on line that I cut with the smallest circle Nestibility then inked the edges. I added a bow and some glitter.

Sending Get Well Wishes To Brighten Up Your Day

Good Morning! Hope everyone is having a great week! Today's card was inspired by my Stampin Up representative Dawn Griffith. Here is the link to her tutorial---

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4N1xCL6SZU&feature=channel_page

This is a tag card, the tag fits into the flowerpot and measures 5.75" by 5.5" at the widest point when the tag is in the pot. I wanted it a little bit wider than Dawn's so I cut the base at 4 inch by 9 inch and scored at 2" and 5.5 ". The flower pot was embossed with Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes and Swiss Dot embossing folders. The flowers are Spellbinders flower die and the buttons are cut from Sizzix buttons, craft yarn was used to "tie" the buttons. I also used Martha Stewart branch punch and Cuttlebug leaf die for the greenery. Word on the tag are computer generated. The card was easy but easy doesn't equate to quick in this case. Had I used a flower punch instead of the Spellbinders and the Sizzix button die I'm sure it would have been quick as well. Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't, please sign by guestbook or leave a comment...you know how I LOVE to hear from you! Have a great day!

To A Special Daughter in Law On Mother's Day

As promised, I'm back with my daughter in laws Mother's Day card...just a little...no A LOT later than I had hoped. Today was a rough day, actually all week has been tough. For those of you that know about my husbands back, the cortisone shot that he had last Friday did no good, in fact when we called the doctor on Monday because he was unable to walk they did an emergency MRI. We were convinced that the shot had paralysed him, but that wasn't the case. Coincidentally the discs that were herniated had ruptured causing him to lose all feeling in one leg and loss of strength in the other. To make a long story short, he will have to have surgery, so we have been running all over town getting things set up. Anyway, on a lighter note...here is the card I made for my daughter in law for Mother's day. The image is by Impression Obsession and was colored using Prisma pencils and OMS. I used the dryer sheet technique. Here is the link---

Words were computer generated. Thanks for stopping by, see you on Monday! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

A Happy Hello

Good Morning and Happy Friday!
Just a real quick card this morning. This Penny Black image was colored with Prisma Pencils and OMS then cut out and put on a layer that was Cuttlebugged with D'Vine Swirls with a heart cut from a Nestibility. The "Happy Hello" was was computer generated then cut with a circle/scallop Nestibility with a button added. I added a bow, 3mm green gemstones and a little bit of glitter to the flower. I'm going to try to get back here this afternoon to post a Mother's Day card that I have made for my daughter-in-was but because I want to do a dryer towel method, I have to do a load of laundry before I can put it together. Thanks for stopping by and if I don't get back this afternoon, have a great weekend!

Your Special Day

Good Morning! Today's card is SO simple. Don't you just love cards that are quick and easy but they look like you spent time on them? The picture really doesn't do it justice, for whatever reason, I just could not get the lighting right. It is basically paper piecing that has been heat embossed with silver embossing powder and Cuttlebug textile texture embossing folder. The swirl stamped image on the left is from Inkadinkado, the flower image in the middle is from Studio G that I had gotten at Michael's for a buck and the Your Special Day image is from Stampabilities. I added some 2mm crystal gemstones and a bow. It just doesn't get much simpler than that! It could be used for birthday, wedding, congratulation...anything that would be considered a special day. Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't already, please sign my guestbook...or better yet sign up to be a follower so you don't miss any of my creations. See you next time...hope you have a GREAT day!

Hello Peanut

Good Morning! I know I'm a little late posting this morning, I usually color the image that I'm going to use for a card the night before, then all I have to do is choose the paper and the layout the next morning and put it together. Last night that didn't happen. Here is today's card--- I'm going to send my 2 year old grandson. It is a Penny Black image that was colored with Prisma pencils and OMS. I used a ticket punch to notch out the corners of the image then layered in on coordinating card stock. I added ribbon that I fed through a Spellbinder buckle, added some rain flowers, rain hearts, rain dots and some glitter. Words are computer generated. If you have any questions, please don't hesitated to ask. Have a great day!

A Great BIG Thank You!

Good Morning Everyone!
Here is a card that I started last night but finished up this morning. I really had fun making it. The card base is cut from the scallop card on Cricket Wild Card cut at 4 1/8. The image is from Stampin Up that I colored with Prisma pencils and OMS then layered it on the liner of the scallop card cut down just a bit. I inked the edges, then add 2 buttons cut from Sizzix and 2 hearts cut with a small Marvy heart punch. I added some glitter and some ribbon. The words "A Great BIG Thank You!" are computer generated, the words "From The Heart" are part of the stamp.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day and I will see you next time!

Gamsol Technique-MCPT

I had a few questions on the Gamsol Technique or what is referred to as "Magic Colored Pencil Technique" and while I answered the questions on the comment, I felt that many of you may have the same question, particularly those of you who may be "newbies" so I though it was worth posting the questions and answers. They are as follows---

Question:What is the difference between Gamsol & OMS?
Answer:There is no difference-Gamsol is a brand name for Odorless Mineral Spirits (OMS) Actually I use Mona Lisa brand that can be purchased at Michaels.

Question:Which Prisma pencils do you use?
Answer:I use Prismacolor Premier. Any colored pencils can be used as long as they are wax based. It is important that they are wax based because the OMS "melts" the wax allowing the color to be spread on the paper.

Question: Do you use blending tips or a dauber or what?
Answer: For the most part I use Q-tips. For very small areas that a Q-tip is too large, I use a small watercolor paint brush.

Question:Where does one get instruction on this technique?
Answer:I am self taught with the help of the many tutorials on You Tube. I really do better by "seeing" rather than reading. Here is a link to what I consider to be the best tutorial on the subject of what is called the Magic Colored Pencil Technique (MCPT)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCCo9799dWo

Something that was not asked but is also important, is the paper that is used. It is best to use a smooth paper, I use Beckett Expression which is a little pricey, but well worth it. While learning, you may want to consider a less expensive brand of paper. Georgia Pacific 130lb is a good substitute for Beckett Expression, and can be purchased at Walmart at a fraction of the cost.

I hope this is helpful and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. If you have any questions, you may want to consider leaving your email address to receive a personal response.

Thank You For All Your Kind Thoughts

Good Morning...This is the first opportunity I have had to say Thank You for all the kind thoughts and emails I had received concerning my husband. There was one point on Friday that he had said if the shots didn't work, he would go out back and shoot himself...I told him if they didn't work, we wouldn't have to, I would do it for him...LOL! He is doing much better today, and we are hopeful that things will only improve from this point on. Thanks again and I will be back tomorrow...til then hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
