Blog Candy and Blog Award

Hello! It's not that I've been a Bad Blogger...I have just been super busy with the birth of the twins. I have been meaning to post this since Sunday and this is the first opportunity I have had to do it...Sorry Carri! My good blogger friend Carri is offering some awesome blog candy good thru August 14th...click here for details.
She also passed along this Cherry On Top Award. I can't thank her enough for thinking of me.
The rules in accepting this award are:
1. you must thank the person who passed it on to you
2. copy award to your blog
3. list three (3) things you love about yourself
4. post a picture that you love on your blog
5. pass the award on to five (5) others
The 3 things I love most about myself is---
1) I try to find good in everyone
2) I'd take great joy in giving rather than receiving
3) I consider my family my 1st priority
Here is my favorite picture. It is a picture of our Maltese, Charlee. We rescued her from a puppy mill breeder the night before Hurricane Charley hit Orlando, August 2004 (hence her name). She was 1 1/2 years old and had already had 2 litters. Since they had to do a C-section and needed to be spayed, the owner had no use for her anymore. While we didn't get her at a bargain price, she is probably one of the best bargains we have gotten and has given us so much joy. The previous owner has no idea what she was giving up. She doesn't like strangers but she is a sweet dog and loves her Mama!
I'm suppose to pass it along to 5 others. It's always so difficult for me to choose, I am truly blessed to have so many blogger friends, each and everyone of you bring a smile to my face so please...feel free to take the award and put it on your blog! I will ask that you list the 3 things that you love about yourself and post your favorite picture, as a way to get to know you better.

Welcome Nathaniel and Jeremiah

Hey there...I know I usually don't post in the afternoon or evening but I told you things were going to be crazy for a while. We just got back from the hospital and I just had to share some pictures with you. First of all...I want to thank everyone for the sweet comments and emails that I have received . Mother and babies are doing fine but it didn't start out that way. When Kim had the C-section, she actually felt them cut her open which led to a host of other problems like sky high blood pressure and profuse vomiting. I felt helpless for her, in fact she wasn't up to visitors yesterday so as hard as it was, we stayed away. She is doing better today so we went to see her. The babies are SO cute! But of course I'm just a little prejudice. They're names are Nathaniel and Jeremiah...good biblical names. They don't have middle names yet, it's up to my son to come up with those and I'm told he has until tomorrow or ELSE...Anyway, here they are---Nathaniel on the left and Jeremiah on the right---
We took a ton of pictures but I won't bore you with them all but I just had to share this picture of Jeremiah crying---
Here is the card that I made for her to go with the blue carnations we sent her. I know it's super simple but I sat here this morning and my mind went blank so I took the same layout I had done awhile ago, changed the colors and put a different image with it and called it a day. The lighting was very bad as you can see from the shadows on the top half of the card but I didn't have time to fool with it ---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: A2
Copic and Prisma Markers
Stamp/Image: Stampabilities-House Mouse
Nestibilities: Circle/Scallop
Cuttlebug: Love Language Card Making Combo
Font: Computer Generated-Cupid de Locke
Accessories: Ribbon, Stickles, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Embossed Layer and Image: Beckett Expression Radiance 80 lb Cardstock
That's it for now. I'll stop by to visit my favorite blogs either later this evening or in the morning, til then enjoy your day...I hope to see you again soon!

It's Raining Get Well Wishes

Good Morning Everyone! Just a quick post this morning before we head off to the hospital to see our new grandbabies. I talked to my daughter in law last night and there were some problems, I won't go into them now but mother and babies are doing well. Here's a card I made for a friend that has been sick, I hope it will cheer her up---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 5x5 Square
Copic Markers
Stamp/Image: Penny Black
Nestibilities: Square
Cuttlebug: Meadow Lark from HSN Romance Embossing Folder Set
Font: Computer Generated-LD Delightful
Accessories: Ribbon, Flat Back Pearls...what no Foam Pop Dots...lol!
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Top Layer Cardstock: Cordination Cardstock (embossed and sanded)

I'm lovin' making these 5x5 cards. This embossing folder wouldn't have been my first choice but I've only got 4 or 5 of the 5x7 folders and this was the best out of what I had. It looks like I'll have to make an on line shopping trip...lol!

That's it for today, As soon as we get some breakfast, we're off to the hospital. My postings will be a little erratic for a while and I will try to visit all of my favorite blogs when I am able. Thanks again for stopping by, I really appreciate all of my loyal friends in blogland. Enjoy your day! I hope to see you again soon!

They're Here...

We are just getting home from the hospital and I wanted to do a quick posting to let everyone know the babies were born this afternoon at 3:54. Kim had gone to the hospital for a routine sonogram, but because she was having contractions they called her doctor and he decided to schedule the C-section. One weighed 4lbs 14oz, the other weighed 5lb 4oz which are really big babies for twins and being 3 weeks early. We seen the babies when they were 10 minutes old and what can I say, they were red and wrinkled. She is still in post op, I'm hoping they will transfer her to her room before 10:00 so I can talk to her. They won't transfer the call after that time and cell phones don't work in the hospital. I'll post more after I talk to her. Hopefully we can get some pictures tomorrow.

Jackson's Turning 1

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Our weekend was on pins and needles...no babies yet but there is a full moon so today just might be the will be the day...lol! My good blogger friend Lorene's great grandson is turning 1, August 8th and she asked me to make a card for him. This is what I came up with. I used The Number Shaped Card Template from The Cutting Cafe. The file comes with a #1 shaped card, #1 folded card, both with matching envelopes and 4 sentiment. This is the folded card---Here's The Recipe---
Card Size: Approx 4 x slightly smaller than 5.5 (Slightly smaller than an A2)

How Are Things In Your Neck Of The Woods?

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a great week. Several weeks ago Sarah from Australia contacted me to see if I would make her the giraffe card I made for my son's birthday. When I told my son I'd have to have the card back that someone wanted it, he told me he didn't think so...lol! I had forgotten how much fun the tear animals were to make! While I'm on the subject of tear bear animals, Helen from Great Britain signed my guestbook last month asking for instructions, but she didn't leave an email address. I tried to respond to her via the guestbook, whether she got my reply, I'll never know because I haven't heard from her. I cannot stress enough, I am more than happy to share what knowledge I have but I must have a way to reach you. So please, if you want information, it is so important to leave an email address so that I can get back with you! Here is a card that I made for my father in law---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 5x5
Image: Paper Piecing-Mulberry Tear Animals
Nestibilities: Petite Oval
Punch: Stampin' Up Corner/Edge Scallop Trim, Marvy Flora (for eyes outlined with gel pen) Font: Computer Generated-2Peas Goofball
Accessories: Ribbon, Mulberry Rose, Buttons, Craft Yarn, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock-Bazzill
Patterned Paper: DCWV Nana's Nursery-Baby Boy
Other Paper: Thick Mulberry Paper (giraffe)

That's it for today. I'm not sure when I'll be back, my daughter in law thought she was leaking amniotic fluid along with contractions so she went to the hospital. It turned out to be a false alarm. She was given something to slow the contractions but told that she would have the babies within the week, so we'll have to be ready to go at a moments notice. I will close by saying, Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit...have a great day, and if I'm not back by Friday, have a great weekend!

Bear Hugs

Good Morning Everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. Ours was very busy. We went to my grandson's birthday party yesterday. My son can grill a mean steak. It was better than any of the top 10 steakhouses around. My daughter in law looks so miserable, huge belly, back ache and swollen hands and feet. I felt so bad for her. I made this simply gate card for her using the Teddy Bear Everyday Bear Greeting from The Cutting Cafe. I had asked Regina if she could make a file with bear sayings back when I was using Boo from Go Kreates. Because I put him to rest for a while, I didn't explore the file until now. I thought Kim needed a hug and what better kind of hug than a bear hug---
Here is the recipe---

Good Morning Everyone...Happy Friday! I hope you've had a great week and looking forward to a wonderful weekend! Here's a quick and easy thank you card I did this morning using the 2 step Stampin' Up bird. I see now that I'm going to have to scrunch one of the flowers a little more and clean out the holes made from the paper piercer on the scallop but that is an easy do, in fact I've already done it but didn't want to take the picture over so you'll have to take my word for it and envision it with the repairs---
Here is the recipe---

Nestibilities: Circle/Scallop
Punches: Stampin Up 2 Step Bird, Fiskars Wisdom of Pearls Corner Punch, Marvy Small Flower

Your Friendship Means The World To Us

Good Morning Everyone! Thank you for stopping by. When I first started making cards and searching for a style, I had come across a package that Regina Easter had made using a simple Mickey head. At the time, I didn't know who Regina was but I knew I liked her style and loved how she added a flower to the solid Mickey head and it has stuck in my mind ever since. I have been wanting to send a simple card to our friends Kathi and Bob, the Disney enthusiasts to let them know how much their friendship means to us and thought this plain and simple card would be perfect. Although the card looks nothing like Regina's package, the idea of adding the flowers to Mickey's head was inspired by her---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 3.5x 6
Nestibilities: Circle
Cuttlebug: Mickey Mouse 3x3 Embossing Combo (used the die only)/ Babyface Alphabet
Punches: Stampin' Up Corner/Edge Scallop Trim, EK Scallop Photo Corner
Font: Computer Generated-Minnie
Accessories: Ribbon, Flower Brad
Base Cardstock: Black DCWV, Red Bazzill

That's it for today. Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit. I hope to see you again real soon...til then, enjoy your day!

Suzanne...Are You Out There?

Good Morning Everyone! I don't have a card to post today, we are taking our grandson to Hollywood Studios for his birthday. They are having a Pixar Block Party with all of his favorite characters today so I'm sure he will enjoy the day. I had a new visitor yesterday that left such a sweet comment. Her name is Suzanne and she had requested the Pilgrim clip art I used in many of my Thanksgiving cards last year. Suzanne, if you are listening, I tried to send them to you 3 times but they have been returned. If you have a different email address, please send it to me @ knmic1012@aol.com. Better run for now...Kenny Michael should be here any minute. Enjoy your day as I am certain we will enjoy ours!

What Do You Call A Fish With No Eyes?

Good Morning Everyone! Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate your visits and your comments too!! My dear friend Gigi has been having some health issues that has caused her to be down in the dumps lately. I thought she could use a smile so I made this slider card for her. Gigi and I worked together in the risk management department of a fairly large bank before our jobs were out sourced 2 years ago. We had a candy jar filled with all sorts of candy but my favorite was the Laffy Taffy. There are silly jokes written on the wrapper and every afternoon I would head for the candy jar. It got to be an afternoon tradition to have "the joke of the day" read aloud and the one that stood out in our minds the most was "What do you call a fish with no eyes?" Scroll down to see the answer. Yes...sad but true...this is the kind of people that handle your money...lol! This is the card before you pull on the pull tab. I don't know why it didn't photograph larger---Here is the top when you pull it out---

And the bottom---Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 3.5x 5.5 Slider Card
Copic Markers
Stamp/Image: Front-Digi Shack, Inside-Stampendous
Nestibilities: Circle
Font: Computer Generated-2Peas Goofball
Accessories: Ribbon, Glitter, Rain Dots, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Recollection (Michael's)

Sorry, I wasn't able to put the link in for The Digi Shack, they must be having problems because when I tried to access the site, I got a message that said temporary unavailable.

That's it for today. Thank for stopping by...til next time, enjoy your day!

Happy Birthday Little Lady

Good Morning...I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and for my US visitors a great 4th of July. Many will have the day off today so I hope you get some crafting in! Here's a card I made for my oldest granddaughter, Kayli. She will be 10 the first of August, so I thought The Cutting Cafe's Happy Birthday Little Lady was perfect. The ladybug and circle word is part of the Cute Critter file. This is an awesome set and comes with over 58 images and sentiments. You can't tell by the picture but the ladybug is popped 2 times. first with the head and the body then a second time with just with the body---

We Treasure Your Friendship

Good Morning...Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by...I really appreciate your visits and your comments too!! Here's a quick and easy card I did this morning using my new Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page-Double Loops. I know it's not new but I've been seeing it used a lot lately (thanks Dora...lol) and had to get one too. There is SO much new stuff coming out...wish they would slow down and give my wallet a rest...lol! I pop dotted the punched layer and really wanted to pop dot the heart too but what I have started doing on all occaision cards like this is leaving the inside blank and inserting a note the size of the inside layer to say what I want to say and enclose a blank envelope so the recipient can re give the card if they wish. The pop dots aren't a problem with the type of mailers I use but may be a problem if the recipient wants to resend it---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 4.25"x4.25" Note Card
Nestibilities: Heart/Scallop
Punch: Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page-Double Loop, Martha Stewart 3 Butterfly, Michael's Dollar Bin, EK Mountain Fern
Spellbinders: Flower Creations
Font: Computer Generated-BatangChe, AltastGreeting
Accessories: Ribbon, Brad, Flat Back Pearls, Foam Pop Dots
Cardstock: Bazzill, Beckett Expression

That's it for today...Enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend. For all my US visitors...Have a great 4th of July! See you next time!

Look Who's Turning 4-Wishing You A Birthday That Is OUT OF THIS WORLD

Good Morning Everyone! Happy July 1st...Can you believe we are already half way through the year...My gosh how this year has flown by...where does the time go while you're having fun? My grandson's birthday is in a couple weeks so I thought I'd better get busy and make him a card. I was inspired by Regina's number and letter shaped cards but she hasn't done the number 4 yet and has been so busy lately I didn't want to ask her to do it for me. I got my Cricut out of it's jammies (thank you Lillie!) and tried my luck. It turned out OK...all the pieces matched and lined up. The only problem I had was finding the right paper...his favorite color is yellow. It's tough to find something in yellow that doesn't look too girly or babyish. I know it doesn't look yellow in the picture but it is...it looks more orange but it's really a dark yellow. You can't tell by the picture but the paper on the inside is spaced themed, hence the sentiment on the tag! Although it wouldn't be my first choice, I'm OK with it---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: Measures 4.5 x 5
Card Template: Cricut-Plantin Schoolbook
Nestibilities: Circle
Spellbinder: Tags 5
Cuttlebug: Birthday 2x2 Set
Sentiment: Computer Generated-2Pea Grandpa
Accessories: Ribbon, Brad, Craft Yarn, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock-Bazzill
Patterned Paper: DCWV-All About Boys

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you next time! Have a great day!
