I love to share what knowledge I have. I'm finding it more and more difficult to respond to your questions because some of you are not leaving a way for me to contact you. What's The Word BIRD?/ One More Friggin' Candle

Good Morning All...I see I've got a couple new followers and want to welcome them to my blog. I hope you enjoy your visits as much as I enjoy you visiting! I hope you had a great weekend! My cousin, who I haven't seen in more than 30 years was in town so we spent a good bit of our weekend with him, his wife along with my aunt, (his mom) and my mom. My youngest son, daughter-in-law and grandson also joined us. He had a really nice weekend!
I'm lovin' all of the Copic Markers, Prisma Markers and ProMarkers people have been using lately and since I bought a set of Prismas very early on I decided to give them ANOTHER try...well, I STILL can't get the hang of it...but I'm going to keep trying. Right now, I am working with the 48 color set which is a little limiting but I do have a complete set ordered and should receive them on Wednesday. I am hopeful with the whole set, it will improve the technique. I wasn't even going to post this card today but decided maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong and give me some helpful hints. I can't seem to get the coloring even and it's blotchy especially in the shaded areas. The markers seem to pick up the ink from the image outline. So here it is...I'm open to some constructive criticism...so please, this is not the time to be kind, I really want your advice---

Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 4.25x4.25 note card
Prisma Markers
Stamps/Image: Angels Landing Digital Stamps-Aussie Animals
Nestibilities: Circle/Scallop
Spellbinder: Flower Creations
Punch: Stampin' Up 2 Step Bird (leave branch only)
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots Embossing Folder
Font: Computer Generated-Girls Are Weird
Accessories: Glitter, Flat Back Pearls, Foam Pop Dots

Here is another using Prisma Markers--- Here is the recipe---
Card Size: A2
Prisma Markers
Stamps/Image: Bugaboo-Stella Birthday-One More Candle
Nestibilities: Square, Octagon
Spellbinder: Hardware Buckles
Accessories: Glitter, Glossy Accents, Embroidery Floss, Foam Pop Dots

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again tomorrow! Enjoy your day! I'm going to try to stop by all of my favorite blogs this morning but will be on the run today so if I don't get to you this morning, I'll stop by tonight...I haven't forgotten you, I've been busy with my out of town family!

They look great to me...love the birdie one, the blue is beautiful!! I heard that the best ink to use for markers that does not bleed is Memento Tuxedo Black, I have red about others, but they have to be heat set..I think either Flourishes and/or Gina K Designs sells it...haven't tried it myself, but plan to!! Anywho the colors you used are bery pretty...have fun with them!!

Kelly, if you're doing something wrong, teach ME how to do it as well as you! LOL! I can't see anything wrong with your images, honestly! I have a full set of Copics AND a 48 set of Prismas and on my best day my coloring couldn't look this good! So whatever you're doing wrong, just keep on doing it! As for the stamp ink, I had the same problem. Switched to Memento (tuxedo black) and don't have the problem anymore. HTH!

You are too hard on yourself, Kelly. I have never tried using markers. I looks a lot more difficult than the gamasol technique. I love your birdie card. So cute!

You're crazy, girl! Your coloring is fabulous! The ink thing is Memento. That solves that prob but I don't see any bleeding on what you did. Both cards are ADORABLE! xxD

Kelly - these are just fabulous my friend! Who doesn't LOVE STELLA?! I haven't tried the copics yet, but I do notice sometimes when I print my image off the computer the ink does tend to bleed a little when I color w/my prisma pencils. Curious to hear if anyone has any suggestions....
Hugs & Happy Days!

Im so excited your my neighbor! Do you ever go to craft shows and classes? Are there any in Fl? I have no scrapping friends in the state and the only stores i know of are Michaels Joannes and Hobby Lobby + online stores lolol. I found your page through the Cutting Cafe !!! I think it was your graduate card that drew me over to your page and then I fell in love with all your awesome projects !!!

Hi Kelly, Again, I think you're being way too hard on yourself. These really are beautiful. I can't enlarge the photo's so I'm not sure about the spotchiness you're talking about, but it doesn't translate in the pics. As far as the ink picking up your stamp lines, are they digi's or ink? If they're digi's, make sure you're letting your image dry for a bit before you try to color. If they're stamped, make sure you use either Memento ink, or Tim Holtz distressing ink works too. I think there is one other brand that works, but I can't remember who it's by. Anything else will smear because the alcohol in the markers reacts with it. Hope this helps you. Your coloring skills are amazing and I can't wait to see you even further develop your talent, cause what you're doing already is just stunning!
hugs!

Kelly, my friend, there is nothing wrong with these cards. They are colored beautifully. You always be too hard on yourself, I can't see a single thing that you are describing. I'll tell you a little secret, if you are using your printer for the images, then go over your lines with a Versa-Mark pen. Be sure to allow it to dry before coloring with the alcohol ink markers. This will seal the inks from the printer. HTH

Kelly, you are being way too hard on yourself. Your coloring is beautifully done. I think we have a more critical eye than others do.

It's not you..it's your printer ink. Perhaps using your heat gun on the image first to make sure it's absolutely dry will help but I sure can't see any bleeding.

Adorable cards!!
