Wishing Everyone The Best In 2011!

I've given a lot of thought to and agonized over my decision to suspend my blogging for the foreseeable future. Although I have "met" so many wonderful people though my blogging and will truly miss you, there is a fine line between the fun and the work aspect of blogging. I have said on many occasions that blogging is a lot of work and it really takes the enjoyment out of creating when I don't get the response I need to make it worth while. At the present I don't want to invest the time it takes to maintain a blog when I am not getting the satisfaction I need. I spend countless hours answering emails from those that come to my blog day after day to get ideas. It's a little disheartening when I have spent so much time to never receive as much as a thank you.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of my loyal followers and friends for their continued support. I especially appreciate that support that has carried me through moments of doubt. As I mentioned at the beginning of this posting, I have met so many wonderful people through my blogging and hope to continue contact with those of you whom I consider my friends.

I will maintain my blog for those who wish to visit. Should my passion for card making bring me back to blogging, I hope you will be there to share in my creativity. In closing, I want to wish you and yours a very healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year!

Here's To Another Year Of BAD HABITS!

Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by...I hope you had a a very Merry Christmas! Here's a New Years card I did using The Cutting Cafe's Happy New Year file. This file is VERY versatile, it comes with 23 images that include sentiments, circle words, background stamps, pictures, frames and journal blocks It's a very bad picture of a blatant scraplift that I borrowed from my dear blogger friend Donna. The colors are all wrong (it's creme and black), you can't see the pattern on the patterned layer and it's out of focus...Other than that...it's very similar to the one Donna did last May using the Your Special File from The Cutting Cafe.---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: A2
Image/Sentiment: Cutting Cafe-Happy New Years
Background Stamp: Cutting Cafe-Happy New Years
Card Frame: Cutting Cafe-Happy New Years
Punch: EK Dotted Scallop Edge, EK Scallop Photo Corner, EK Mountain Fern, Martha Stewart Branch
Accessories: Ribbon, Flat Back Pearls, Mulberry Roses
Base Cardstock: American Craft
Patterned Paper/Cardstock: DCVW La Creme

This is a very sad day for me, It marks the end of my term with The Cutting Cafe. This is the last posting as a member of The Design Team. I've been with Regina since August of 2009, to say that I will miss her is a understatement! Not only is Regina very easy to work with, she has always made me feel appreciated for the job I have done for her. She has been there at every turn with nothing but words of encouragement and praise. I have grown since I have been on her team and I truly feel blessed to have been a part of The Cutting Cafe's Design Team. At this point, I'm not certain what I am going to do to fill the void but I will be taking some time off to take care of personal business that has been neglected and I have GOT to take time to CLEAN up my craftroom. I still have the clutter from Halloween in my way. With that being said...I will see you when I see you...Enjoy your day!

Holiday Photos-The Cutting Cafe

Good Morning Everyone. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! How many times have you been handed ( or have handed someone) a plain white envelope with pictures. Regina with The Cutting Cafe has come up with a novel idea for picture giving. Here is a photo holder I made with the CAMERA PHOTO SHAPED HOLDER TEMPLATE. It comes with a camera shaped card with a holder in the inside to hold up to ten 4 by 6 photos, 20 circle sentiments, 22 straight sentiments that can be used for various picture taking occasions and a smaller camera shaped card with a matching envelope. My daughter in law who loves to take pictures is one of those people that gives pictures in a plain white envelope so I hope to have a set of these done to give her when we see them Christmas Eve. I'll be doing the set for various occasions and will include this one and a few more for Christmas photos. This is the camera shaped card that I enlarged to 4 5/8 by 6 1/4---
Here is the recipe---
Shaped Template: Cutting Cafe-Camera Photo Shaped Holder Template
Card Size: 4 5/8" x 6 1/4"
Nestibilities: Circle Scallop
Spellbinders: Double Ended Tags
Punch: Martha Stewart Holly
Accessories: Flat Back Pearls, Buttons, Scrappers Floss, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper/Cardstock: DCVW Holiday Collection-The Christmas Stack 12x12
Other Paper/Cardstock: American Craft

That's it for today. I'll be taking the rest of the week off to take care of some last minute things and to spend time with friends and family. I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone...it's me again. I was talking to a fellow blogger the other day and she asked why I didn't have a "chat box" on my blog. If you have any questions or just want to say hello and I'm on line, I'd be more than happy to chat with you.

Have Your-elf A Merry Little Christmas

Good Morning Everyone! Brrrr...it's cold this morning! We've had the heat on for more than a week and it doesn't look like we are going to get any relief any time soon! Here's the card I made for my 4 year old grandson. Gosh, I struggled with his card. I sent him the turkey shaped card for Thanksgiving and he was just so tickled with it, he kept saying over and over that he had never seen a turkey card before. I wanted to do a shaped card. So I started with a shaker snow globe but ended up trashing it...it just wasn't right, then I did a snowman shaped card and even though I didn't trash it, I wasn't happy with it because it was just too plain. This card isn't anything special but I think he will like it. He is so easy to please and appreciates everything---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 5"x5" Square
Copic Markers
Image/Stamp: Mo's Digital Pencil-Sticky
Nestibilities: Square
Punch: Martha Stewart Holly
Sentiment: Computer Generated-Font-LD Happy Daddy
Accessories: Ribbon, Brad, Stickles, Flat Back Gems, Flower Soft, Tiny Bell
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterened Paper: ATD-Very Merry
Other Paper/CardStock: Beckett Expression 80lb

That's it for today...Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you again tomorrow. Enjoy your day and stay WARM!

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Good Morning Everyone. Well...here we are...another Monday, with less than 2 weeks til Christmas, I'm struggling to get my Christmas cards done! Luckily, those going out of town have been done and already mailed. I know that everyone is busy this time of year but I'm very disappointed in the amount of comments I received last week verses the amount of visitors. Blogging is a lot of work and if you're going to take the time to visit, please take the time to comment. Here is the recipe---

There Is SNOW One Quite Like You!

Good Morning Everyone...TGIF! It's been a heck of a week for me...I hope your week has gone better. My good blogger friend Min's father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last January, and while they thought things were under control, they got the devastating news last week that the cancer has spread around his lungs and Hospice has been called in. For the last 11 months, family and friends have sent cards and well wishes. Her dad has cherished each and every card that he has received. She would like to make this a Christmas he will never forget. She is asking all that can participate to make an extra card to send to her dad. Click here for details. My heart goes out to Min and her family, no one should have to endure this dreadful disease, especially at Christmas time. Min...you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Knowing the type of person he is, he would prefer something funny or cute rather than something serious. Here's the card I sent---

Christmas Joy (done in acetate)

Good Morning Everyone! Just a quick posting today. This is very similar to the card I did last week where I used the felt poinsettias and the computer generated sentiment except I used acetate, which gives it a whole different look. I love the look of acetate but hate the fingerprints so rather than making myself crazy, I don't bother wiping the fingerprints until I'm done---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: A2
QuicKutz: 2x2 Poinsettias
Sentiment: Computer Generated Font: Berylium (w/outline only-no fill color), CAC Champagne
Accessories: Felt, Ribbon, Flat Back Pearls
Base Cardstock: Acetate
Other Paper/Cardstock: Bazzill, Beckett Expression 80lb

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by...I hope you enjoy your visit! Til next time, have a great day!

Wishing You All The JOYS of CHRISTMAS

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful week! Last week when I was posting a card to SCS I ran across a card that I just had to scraplift. I don't scraplift often but have always found white on white so elegant and when I seen it, I knew who I was going to send it to so I went to the posters blog to ask for permission to scraplift. Much to my surprise, the poster, Jocelyn aka JoBear2 has been visiting my blog for more than a year now...talk about it being a small world...this card was scraplifted all the way from the NE suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. You can visit her blog by clicking here...her work is awesome! I varied my card by adding the silver layers, glittering the embossing on the snowflakes and adding flatback pearls but other than that it's just like Jocelyn's---Here is the recipe---
Card Size: A2
Nestibilities: Petite Oval/Scallop
Cuttlebug: A2 Snowflake Embossing Folder, A2 Swiss Dots, 3x3 Treetops Combo
Sentiment: Computer Generated-Font: LD Wedding, Berylium
Accessories: Ribbon, Glitter, Flat Back Pearls, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Beckett Expression 80lb
Other Paper/Cardstock: Silver Mirror

That's it for today...I haven't finished getting my cards ready for mailing and will probably be scrambling next week but I needed to take a break. My New Years resolution for next year will be to finish the inside of the card before starting a new project. We'll see how long that lasts...lol!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your visit. I hope to see you again tomorrow, have a great day!

With Love At Christmas

G00d Morning Everyone! Thanks for stopping by...I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I know we sure did. Of course we spent Thursday with our good friends Kathi and Bob, did nothing but laze around on Friday and we spent Saturday with my son's family. Gosh, I can't believe the twins are 4 months old now and are just as cute as can be. With less than a month away til Christmas, I think I'd better put on my crafting cap and get my butt into gear. Here is a card I made using The Cutting Cafe's Christmas Frames. What an awesome set, it comes with 10 sentiments in 2 different sizes (A2 and 4"x6") for a total of 20 framed sentiments. I chose the "With Love at Christmas". Do you see the smaller trees in the background on the Nestibility...that was my husband's idea...and who said men can't come up with ideas on their own...lol!
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: A2
Sentiment: Cutting Cafe-Christmas Frames
Nestibilities: Lacey Circle, Circle
Punch: Martha Stewart Large Tree, Martha Stewart Tree Edge,EK Dotted Scallop Edge

A Sweet Treat Holiday Give Away

THIS POSTING
FOR THE SWEET TREAT HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY
WILL STAY ON TOP UNTIL MIDNIGHT (EST) NOVEMBER 30th
THE DRAWING WILL BE DECEMBER 1st
SEE POSTING FOR DETAILS. GOOD LUCK!!!
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR THE MOST CURRENT POSTINGS!
Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had the good fortune to spend the day with our good friends Kathi and Bob. Kathi is the Martha Stewart of Kissimmee, Florida so I don't have to tell you what a perfect day it was...the food was great and the company was wonderful. There is no doubt when we left their home, we were 5 lbs heavier!
I've got so much to be thankful for...I have "met" so many wonderful people from all over the world through my blog. I want to show my appreciation with this 4 card boxed set of The Candy Cane Poem. Whether you keep it, or give it as a gift, it's my way of saying THANK YOU! There are no special requirements and it is open to everyone that leaves a comment...I will even ship Internationally. All you have to do to be eligible to win this set is leave a comment here on my blog before midnight (EST) November 30th. The winner will be chosen using random.org and announced the morning of December 1st. Although I appreciate those of you that leave comments by signing my guestbook, there is NO way I can put your name into the drawing! You MUST leave a comment here on my blog!
Here is a picture of the set--- This set has 4 A2 size cards with envelopes (all the same design) that come in a box that was made from the instruction on SCS and can be found here except I trimmed the box down by 1/4 inch on both the top and bottom of the box and an additional 1/16 inch on the top of the top for a better fit. The card is like the card I posted November 15th (for the recipe see the November 15th posting) with the exception I did not pop dot the candy canes or the holly leaves. I thought it best not to impose extra postage so rather than pop dots, I glued only the middle portion of the holly to the candy cane allowing them to give dimension without the bulk. Here is a picture of the front of the card---
Here is the inside---
And the box---
That's it for today...Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend! I hope to be back on Monday. Be sure to leave a comment to be entered into the drawing then check back Wednesday, December 1st to see if you are the winner...Good Luck!

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year

Good Morning Everyone! Thanks for stopping by! This will be my last posting until Friday. I'm taking a few days off to be with family and friends for Thanksgiving but I will be back Friday. There is no way you will find me on the streets or in the the malls on Black Friday. That's just not my thing...in fact you won't find me in the stores until December 20th at which time I will start and finish my Christmas shopping. This is a very simply card and very easy to mass produce. After embossing the top layer, a window was cut and the sentiment layer (a freebie offered by Squigglefly Digital Stamps on SNR Card Universe and recolored) was placed underneath. I was going to heat emboss the "dots" but found that a gold opaque paint marker gave the same effect.---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: A2
Cuttlebug: A2 Snowdots Embossing Folder
Sentiment: Freebie Squigglefly Digital Stamps on SNR Card Universe
Accessories: Ribbon, Gold Opaque Paint Marker
Base Cardstock: Beckett Expression 80lb
Other Paper/Cardstock: Gold Mirror

It just doesn't get any easier! Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you again on Friday. Til next time, enjoy your day and have a Very Happy Thanksgiving!

Christmas Ornament Fun Template-Cutting Cafe

Good Morning Everyone...Another Monday...Another day closer to Christmas! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I am FINALLY able to start working on my Christmas cards so it should be no surprise that I chose a template from The Cutting Cafe. This is the Christmas Ornament Fun Template file and IS just that...FUN! The file comes with 2 different ornaments and with each ornament there is a window card..a folded card and a shaped card...and they all will fit in an A2 size envelope! The set also has a border...each are approximately 10 inches in length and large and small nesting ornament. Thanksgiving Greetings...Disney Style

Good Morning! Here is the last of my Thanksgiving cards. Of course it's for our good friends Kathi and Bob and I have to say...it's getting harder and harder to come up with something with a Disney Theme so I thought I would combine the Mickey head cut with my Cricut using the Mickey Font Cartridge with the sentiment and background stamps from The Cutting Cafe's Thanksgiving Day Printable Stamp set---

The Candy Cane Poem

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a great weekend...we sure did. Didn't do too much of anything but it sure was great to have gorgeous weather! I'm not finished with my Thanksgiving cards but I needed to take a break from them so I decided to do something for Christmas. I will probably regret my decision later in the week when I'm pressed to get them done but for now it's like a breath of fresh air! Many years ago my daughter in law had given me a plaque of The Candy Cane Poem which I display all year long. When I found the poem from Clear Dollar Stamps in digital form I knew exactly what I was going to do with it! It comes with the poem, candy canes, holly and 2 sentiments. There's no doubt that I'll be doing more with this set before the season is over---

Autumn Blessings

Good Morning Everyone! Here's a couple of cards I did for the twins using colored clip art that I decoupaged. I didn't notice until I had finished them and only because my husband pointed it out that the sign "Autumn Blessings" that the scarecrow is holding has an apostrophe when it shouldn't. I'll have to fix it but not certain how I'm going to do it since I pierced and pop dotted the scarecrow's hands to thread the craft yarn through them, so it would involve taking the whole card apart. I can't believe that I over looked it...must be a case where you can't see the forest for the trees. Anyway, here they are. If I can't figure out a way to "save" them, I'll end up doing them over without the sign. I thought about putting a crow on the sign where the apostrophe is. If anyone has a suggestion I'd love to hear it--- Here's The Recipe---
Card Size: 5"x5" Square
Decoupage
Stamp/Image: Clip Art-Digi Scrap Kit-Autumn Scarecrow 2
Nestibilities: Lacey Circle, Circle
Punch: EK Corner Rounder

Boo-Happy Halloween

Happy Friday Everyone! Thanks for stopping by...I hope you've had a great week! Once again I'm running short on time this morning so here's a quick post. Another Halloween card, this one I made for my father in law. I cannot believe I am still making Halloween cards...last year I was done and working on Christmas cards by October 1st and I still have a few more to make! And to top it off...the ones that I have done still need the insides finished off. So you know how I'll be spending my weekend! I'll probably be at the post office at midnight Sunday night to insure those that are going out of state will be delivered in time. It didn't photograph well because I had to take it without the flash because of the glitter on the moon. Kathi suggested I change the settings...not me...I don't even how how to recharge the battery...lol!
Here's The Recipe---
Card Size: A2-Topper
Nestibilities: Circle/ Scallop

A Simple Shaped Halloween Card Made With Cricut!

Happy Humpday Everyone! I hope you are having a great week! Here's a very simple shaped Halloween card made with my Cricut. I've used my Cricut more in the last 2 weeks than what I have used it in the last 2 years. Thanks, Kathi for the inspiration to dust it off and put it to use. When I was showing her how to use her Cricut, the first image that we cut was the ghost from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. I had forgotten how much fun the Cricut can be--- Here's The Recipe---
Card Size: 4.25" x 4.5"
Cricut: Create A Critter (moon), Paper Doll Dress Up (ghost, pumpkin, bat), Design Studio
Punch: Fiskars Small Tag

Look What I Received From My Good Friend Kathi!

Good Morning Everyone...Thanks for stopping by. For those of you that visit my blog on a regular basis, you know that last Saturday, I had the pleasure of showing my good friend Kathi how to use the Cricut she purchased many months ago. I wanted to share with you a card that I received from her. This is the 1st card her she completed since learning how to use her Cricut. I was deeply moved when I received this card and honored that she would think enough of me to send me her first creation! Please help me welcome Kathi to the card making world by taking a moment to comment. We all know the importance of receiving encouragement through comments in order to grow. This photo does not do the card justice, the colors are off and the glitter of the background paper doesn't show through very well. Isn't the mix of patterned paper fabulous, and the flowers absolutely gorgeous! I love the way she sized and layered them. I will treasure this card as I do our friendship.
Thanks for stopping by...I hope to see you again tomorrow. Have a great day!

Halloween Trio-Cutting Cafe

Good Morning Everyone...I hope you had a wonderful weekend! The weather in Orlando couldn't have been better! Here are the Halloween cards I made for my 3 granddaughters using the Cutting Cafe's Halloween All Around Printable Stamp Set. I wanted them all the same but yet different so this set is perfect. It comes with 8 different word circles and images in the center, the word circles by themselves and the images by themselves...What a great value! The word circles are a little smaller then 3.5" and fit perfectly over the Cutting Cafe's Circle Shaped Card 2 as the base. Because I am pressed for time, I cheated and used the largest Beaded Circle Nestibility for the base of the card. I folded a 4.25" x 8.5" piece of Stampin' Up Kraft card stock in half, placed the Nestibility just above the fold and ran it through my Cuttlebug...instant circle shaped card base! For the top layer, I used the Nestibility die cut in black then adhered it over the folded base. The finished card measures 4.25" The images are paper pieced, glued to the cardstock then printed again and pop dotted---
Here's The Recipe---
Card Size: 4.25" Round
Paper Pieced
Stamp/Image: Cutting Cafe-Halloween All Around
Nestibilities: Beaded Circle, Circle
Accessories: Ribbon, Spider Brads, Googly Eyes, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Stampin' Up Kraft
Patterned Paper: Unknown (from my scraps)
Other Cardstock: Bazzill

That's it for today...thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you again real soon...Enjoy your day!

I made this a little shorter than the instructions then filled it with my favorite Reese Pieces...hence the sentiment on the tag. I will probably send it with my father in law's Halloween card---
Here is the recipe---

Happy Fright Night-Cutting Cafe

Good Morning Everyone...Thanks for stopping by! I hope you had a great weekend! We had the pleasure of spending Saturday afternoon crafting and enjoying dinner with our with our good friends Kathi and Bob. She had purchased a Cricut many months ago and was ready to toss it out the window (does THAT sound familiar to anyone) Although I'm not the best one to teach her how to use it, I was able to give her a few pointers. It was so cool to be able to share what knowledge I have with her. I had to smile though, she sent me an email saying she glued the top layer of a card she made to the base upside down. I hope she doesn't mind me sharing...but how many of you have done that? I know I have...more times than I care to admit. I told her that she'll be more careful...til the next time...lol! I made this Halloween card for my husband's son using Halloween Time Printable Stamps from The Cutting Cafe. It is a HUGE file with 55 assorted images and sentiments. The background paper is from K and Company-Tim Coffey Halloween that I cut at 3.75" x 4" then cut into 3 segments and layered and pop dotted them onto another 2 layers before putting it onto the base card. Adding the googly eyes to the tree was an idea that I had gotten from my blogger friend Donna. The house and fence were cut from glossy paper using Spellbinder dies, I had to take the picture without the flash to prevent flashback so it didn't photograph very well especially the glitter on the "moon"---

Here's The Recipe---
Card Size: A2
Sentiment: Cutting Cafe-Halloween Time
Nestibilities: Circle
Spellbinder: Halloween Fence Scenes
Cuttlebug: Halloween 3x3 Die
Accessories: Googly Eyes, Glitter, LOTS of Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: K & Company- Tim Coffey-Halloween
Other Cardstock: Best Occasion Glossy

That's it for now, starting today I will only be posting once or twice a week. Blogging is a lot of fun but can also be a lot of work. If I have inspired you, please take a moment to do likewise. I'll close by saying...I'll see you when I see you...enjoy your day!
