Bon Voyage

Good Morning Everyone! I'm so happy you stopped by today, I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I enjoy you visiting! Please take a moment to say hello. Your comments are truly appreciated and such a source of inspiration to me! My husband and I really enjoyed the day yesterday and decided to do this more often. By the looks of my sidebar, you all have been very busy and it's going to take me a while to play catch up.
Our good friends Kathi and Bob will be going on a Disney Mediterranean Cruise next week and we wanted to wish them a Bon Voyage. I had come across the image of the Mickey Ears with a Captains Wheel and since I hadn't done anything for them using Donald Duck, I thought it would be perfect for the occasion. Here is the card I sent them. I cut the Mickey Ears and Captains Wheel with my Bosskut and colored the Donald Duck image with my Copic markers. I used my Cricut Mickey and Friends cartridge for the anchors. The background paper is also a freebie if you look close you will see the hidden Mickeys. I hand stitched along the border ---Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 5.5x5.5 Square
Copic Marker/Die Cut

Good Morning Everyone! Here is what I started working on yesterday but was unable to finish because we didn't have any candy corn. This features the Pumpkin Goodie Bag Holder from The Cutting Cafe and was SO easy to make, there is no doubt I will be making a bunch of them this Halloween---

With Much Love

Good Morning and Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. We had much needed rain yesterday so it kept us inside most of the day. Normally I post something that I have created using a Cutting Cafe file on Monday, but I didn't have what I needed to finish what I was working on so it will be later in the week before I'm able to post my project. I had this image colored so I thought I'd make a card for my father in law with it. For those of you that are new to my blog, he is 92 year old and lives in an assisted living home in SW Virgina. How he loves to get my cards, he shows them to anyone that will look at them. The image and the sentiment is Tiddly Inks but sentiment goes with a different image. I used the out of Nestibility technique and if you look close, you can see that I hand stitched the balloon string---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 5x5 Square
Copic Markers
Image: Tiddly Inks
Nestibilities: Circle/Scallop
Cuttlebug: Love Language Embossing Folder
Punch: Stampin' Up Scallop Trim Edge
Sentiment: Tiddly Inks
Accessories: Flat Back Pearls, Embroidery floss, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: ATD Relaxed Mat
Other Cardstock: Coredinations-Black Magic

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit. For all of you that have have been kind enough to leave comments, thank you so much, you have no idea what they mean to me. Your comments are really a source of inspiration to me! Have a great day and I'll see you next time!

THANKS...not just for the BIG things you do...

Good Morning Everyone! Thanks for stopping by...I hope you've had a great week and looking forward to the weekend as much as I am! I don't think you can ever have enough Thank You cards on hand so here's a quickie this morning using an embossing folder then coloring the embossed area with a Copic marker. I first saw this done from Sue Nelson of Heartprints and it makes a really quick and simple card with a splash of color---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 4.25 x 4.25 Note Card
Sizzix: Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder (exclusive to Stampin Up)
Font: Computer Genererated-Bradley Hand ITC
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Embossed Cardstock: Beckett Expression 80lb

That's it for today. I know I'm a little behind visiting my favorite blog...I've been away from the computer for few days. I'll try to catch up today, and if not today certainly by this weekend!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day and have a wonderful weekend, I hope to see you again Monday!

Two For Tuesday...A Day Late!

Good Morning...Happy Humpday! Here's a couple of cards that I wanted to post yesterday and call it Two For Tuesday but because I wasn't sure that the recipients had received them I thought I had better wait. They are for our good friends Kathi and Bob. I knew when Bob's birthday was and when I was making his, I realized that I hadn't made one for Kathi because I didn't know when her birthday was. This is the one I sent Kathi with a note saying to accept this as either an early or belated card vowing to get it right next year. While I call them the Disney enthusiast, I really think that it's Kathi and Bob tinkers in trains

This one is for Kathi. Made with Disney Clip art, I used Copic markers for her face and paper pieced her bow and dress. It didn't photograph well, it looks a bit washed out---

Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 5x5 Square
Copic Marker/Paper Piecing
Stamp/Image: Disney Clip Art
Nestibilities: Circle/Scallop
Cuttlebug: Disney A2 Combo Die Celebrate
Punch: Stampin' Up Corner/Edge Scallop Trim
Font: Computer Generated-Minnie
Accessories: Ribbon, Brad, Craft Yarn, Heart Charm, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: On Line Freebie
Other Cardstock: Metallic (brand unknown)

This one is for Bob but it didn't photograph well either. Each layer is pop dotted but it doesn't show in the picture and the coloring isn't right either. I love DCWV LaCreme cardstock but for some reason it never photographs well for me. I don't know if it's the lighting or the camera. I cut the image in 3 equal segments then layered and pop dotted each segment ---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 4.75 x 5
Stamp/Image: JenU Designs
Font: Computer Generated-Teletype
Accessories: Brads, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Paper: DCWV-LaCreme

That's it for today...Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your visit. Enjoy your day...I'll see you next time!

Imagine

Good Morning Everyone! Thanks for stopping by! Here is a super quick card I made with the stamps I won from "The Other Kelly...in Miami" last week. Although this card turned out NOTHING like I envisioned it, I love the stamp set just the same and will try again later. I love to heat emboss word stamps but have so few. When Kelly told me I won the set, you know I was excited. The set has 3 other words (Always, Grin and Love) and 2 flourishes. It didn't photograph well, I had to take the picture without the flash from a distance to prevent bounce back from all the metallic paper I used. The patterned background paper is also metallic so you can imagine the glare with the flash---
Here's The Recipe---
Card Size: A2
Heat Embossed
Stamp/Image: Stampology
Punch: Stampin' Up Scallop Trim Edge
Accessories: Ribbon, Heart Charm, Embroidery Floss, Flat Back Pearls
Base Cardstock: DCWV
Patterned Paper: ATD Metallics Specialty Collection
Other Cardstock: For Trim-Metallic-Brand Unknown

That's it for today. Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you tomorrow, if not then I'll see you when I see you. Have a great day!

Happy Halloween

Good Morning...Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! It was a lazy one here, we didn't do too much of anything. Can you believe it's already that time of year again to start doing Halloween cards...this year has just flown by. My husband reminded me that there is only 4 more months until Christmas! Here is a quick and simple card using The Cutting Cafe Pumpkin Shaped Card Template and the Holiday Tag Set. Although, if you are going to be doing a few Halloween cards this year, the Cutting Cafe 13 piece Halloween Set is a better value because it contains 5 shaped cards along with 3 printable stamps and 5 titles. In fact I've already got plans for a few of the other templates in the set. Here is today's card---
Here's The Recipe---
Card Size: Approx 6 x 3.75 inches
Card Template: Cutting Cafe-Pumpkin Shaped Card
Sentiment: Cutting Cafe-Holiday Tag Set
Cuttlebug: Distressed Stripes A2 Embossing Folder, Halloween 3x3 Die
Accessories: Ribbon, Embroidery Floss, Craft Ink, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Other Cardstock : Stampin' Up Kraft Cardstock (tag), Recollection (Michael's) used for the spiders

That's it for today...Thanks for stopping by. See you next time...have a wonderful day!

Grandpa's Lil' Fishin' Buddy

Good Morning Everyone. I hope you are having a great week. Here's a quick little card I made for my grandson inspired by the hat he wore when we took him to Animal Kingdom last week. The hat came from Bass Proshop and had "Grandpa's Lil' Fishin' Buddy" on it. He was so proud of his hat and every time someone commented on it he would grin ear to ear. I think my husband also enjoyed the comments! I'm going to make my son's favorite meal for him pick up on his way home from work so Kim doesn't have to cook. We'll give him the card to give to Kenny Michael along with some little trinket we have picked up for him along the way. I talked to Kim last night and she said they are getting into a routine and things are really pretty good. The babies aren't fussy and Kenny Michael is a big help and not jeolous at all. It's tough being 4 years old, being the center of attention and all of a sudden have to share the attention...I know because I was 4 when my brother was born. Every chance I got I would either pinch him, poke his eyes or pull his ears. Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 4.25 x 4.25 Square Note Card
Copic Markers
Image: Popcorn The Bear
Nestibilities: Circle/Scallop
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots
Punch: EK Dotted Scallop Edge
Font: Computer Generated-2Peas Goofball
Accessories: Scor Pal, Craft Yarn, Heart Button
Base Cardstock: Bazzill
Other Cardstock: Coredinations

That's it for today. If you haven't already, be sure to leave a comment for the Cutting Cafe Give Away. I'll be drawing the winner Friday morning, not only for the Cafe's files but for the project I made with them as well. Scroll down for details! Thank's for stopping by, enjoy your day and I'll see you next time!

Cutting Cafe Give Away-Note Pad Set

Good Morning Everyone...Happy Monday...and what a Happy Monday it is! The Cutting Cafe hasn't done a give away for a while so you know I was excited when Regina said we would be doing a give away this week! Regina has been SUPER busy... if you haven't been to The Cutting Cafe lately you are in for a real treat! She has added dozens of files in the last few weeks and if you have been wanting to do a word book, The Cutting Cafe is the place to go! Regina has done a word book for just about every possible project you could imagine and her files are SO easy to use!
Up for grabs is The Line Paper Note Pad Set AND The Pencil Shaped Card Templates. The Note Pad Set comes with a folder that has a flap inside and when closed is 4.75 x 6 inches. The lined paper comes in 5 colors with an envelope template to match. The line paper is approx. 4 x 5.5 inches and when the paper is folded in half, it will fit perfectly inside the envelope! It makes a really nice set for gift giving. I used the Pencil Shaped Card Template at 75% to decorate the folder but the template full sized is approx. 2.5 by 6 inches and comes with a matching envelope....the set also has 4 sentiments! I had SO much fun with this project and all you have to do to be eligible to win these sets is leave a comment here on my blog before 11:59 PM (EDT) Thursday, August 12th. The winner will be chosen using random.org and announced the morning of Friday, August 13th. Although I appreciate those of you that in the past have left comments by signing my guestbook, there is NO way I can put your name into the drawing! You MUST leave a comment here on my blog! In addition, the winner will receive the project I created using these fabulous sets. Be sure to check out the other Design Team Members blogs (listed on the sidebar to the right) to see if they are participating in the give away! Here is my project with a face on view when closed--- Here is another angle of my project when closed---
And here it is opened...Let me share with you something Regina did with her line paper that I didn't do but will give it a try. After she cut the paper (they come 2 to a page) she stacked them on top of one another adding glue just at the top...after they were glued together, she wrapped some matching card stock on the top and then added it to the folder...pretty cool...huh?
Here's The Recipe---
Note Pad Set Size: 4.75 x 6 (closed)
Template: Cutting Cafe-Line Paper Note Pad Set, Pencil Shaped Template (at 75%)
Sentiment: Cutting Cafe-Pencil Shaped Card Template

WHOO HOO

Just a real quick posting before I shut down my computer for the night...I want to thank Miami Kel of Sandcastle Stamper. She offered blog candy last week and guess who won! YEP...it was ME! I never pay attention to blog candy and don't post just because of it so when she emailed me to tell me I was a winner I was shocked! I won an amazing stamp set and can't wait to receive it. I went to get a picture of it tonight and there seems to be a slight problem...while she was editing her blog, she accidentally erased 5 posts from "draft" and it cleared the last two published posts as well, so I can't show you what I won but I can tell you, I've already got plans for it!! She has been a good blogger friend who is also incredibly talented! If you get a chance, stop by her blog and say hello!
I'll be back tomorrow morning with rings on my fingers and bells on my toes with another exciting Cutting Cafe giveaway! Hope to see you then!

A Bird Doesn't Sing...

Happy Friday Everyone! I hope you've had a good week! We spent the day with our grandson yesterday and what a great day we had. We went to Disney's Animal Kingdom and had perfect weather. We gave him the "woof" card I made him and he was so tickled, he said he loved it...now really what does a 4 year old know about loving a card...lol! I had to laugh because when I asked if the image was a dog or a rabbit, he never did answer me, he only said hmmm!
Here's a really quick card today that I made with my new Sizzix die from Tim Holtz, Caged Bird. I love the die but it's a bit bigger than what I had thought it would be. I teamed it with the famous quite from Maya Angelou---
Here is the recipe---

The image is a dog but my husband said it looked like a rabbit...the more I look at it, I guess it does look like a rabbit. I'm sure it's a dog because it has a bone in it's mouth. Anyway...here it is---

Nestibilities: Rectangle, Heart/Scallop
Punch: EK Arrow Border

Sending Special Thoughts and Wishes to a Very Special Someone

Good Morning Everyone! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you had a great weekend! We had a busy one, but things are getting back to normal. The babies went home Thursday and when I asked how things went the 1st night, I was told not bad. They eat every 3-4 hours and sleep in between so Kenny and Kim were able to get SOME sleep, which is something they weren't able to do when Kenny Michael was born. Kenny goes back to work today, so we will take Kenny Michael a few days a week until they get a routine in place. They are not fussy babies so it shouldn't take too long before things start to settle down for them. We took dinner to them last night and had a chance to visit, they are so fortunate to have their good babies 2nd, unlike me, had my youngest son been born 1st...I wouldn't have had anymore...lol!
Here is a birthday card I made for my good friend Gigi using The Cutting Cafe's Birthday Greetings Inside and Out. I love this file, there are 20 sentiments suitable for either the inside or out in all kinds of different font...I love it---
Here is the recipe---
Card Size: 4.75 x 4.75 Square
Nestibilities: Petite Oval/Scallop
Cuttlebug: Script Texture A2 Embossing Folder, Birds and Swirls A2 Embossing Folder
Punch: Nellie Snellen Floral Medium/Large Flower Set, EK Mountain Fern, Martha Stewart Branch, Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly, I also used Martha Stewart Circle Cutter
Sentiment: Cutting Cafe-Birthday Greeting Inside and Out
Accessories: Ribbon, Flat Back Pearls, Foam Pop Dots
Base Cardstock: Cordination Whitewash
Top Layer Cardstock: Cordination Whitewash (embossed and sanded)

That's it for today...Thanks for stopping by...see you next time, enjoy your day!
